Ok, I personaly live in texas, so is tther anyone else out there that woul just love for a fallout game to be set in texas? Having it start kindof like FO:NV and the same no general story line, whatever path you take type of thing? I whent to DC in 7th grade and I enjoyed re-seeing some of the stuff that I saw in the past, and was tickled by the thought of exploring a place that I was extremely familiar with... I don't think this post will get many responses considering how it is in the wrong forum. On topic, I wouldn't want to see a game in Texas because it would be far too much like F:NV and even more so given your story suggestion. It should be somewhere totally different from anything we've seen before and somewhere that won't be ridiculously cheesy like New York. I think it should either be in Washington, near Seattle as per the cool concept art from Fallout Online, or in New England as a sort of sequel to F3, but with a plot focusing on the Institute or something like that.Q-35 19:53, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

First I'd like to say that depending on what part of Texas its set in the environment of the game would be really nothing like F:NV, Honestly if anything I think it would end up more like F3 because although I'll be the first to say that I don't have the best knowledge of Fallout lore especially with everything before the nukes fell, and yes I know that nuclear power is what was used to power cars and such, but if it was anywhere near how it is in RL then we would be a pretty damn good target because we are pretty much the nations main source of crude oil which they would most likely still use for producing plastics and the like(im pretty sure hemp/other alt. wouldn't be in use just due to the eternal 50's way of life) so although it wouldn't be a direct hit on the most likely places to set it in (1.San Antonio/Austin 2. probably Dallas) the areas will still be pretty irradiated depending on when they set it and how strong the bomb was (IDK about you but I picture them using something pretty strong here at least compared to Little Boy which is what we dropped on Hiroshima which was equivalent to about 15 kilotons TNT for here due to the size of our state and the fact that they had like (150? correct me if I'm way off) years since that bomb in a nuclear friendly world to work on the technology although Tsar Bomba levels are probably max) but because it wouldn't be direct the area will be more civilized looking than D.C. was even with buildings collapsing with age fires that may start there etc. and would most likely end up feeling cluttered if the dev. team wants to be realistic (well as much as you can be in the genre) with how it would be affected and probably end up feeling a bit more zombie apocalypse or something, that's why I think Vegas worked as a place that wasn't hit what with the "city" part of it being on or near the strip. So no this Texan probably wouldn't put much time into it compared to what I have with F3 and New Vegas (yes those are the only 2 i've played so far except like maybe 10 minutes of tactics because I can't seem to get 1 and 2 to run) or really open world games in general, unless the unlikely happens and they were to stage it in some border town and put more focus to hardcore mode survival that would be just heaven, but that would never happen. So with that said, I'd love to see the next game set near the coast, Florida preferably maybe even incorporate some form of weather cycle like some acid rain that causes your gear to degrade quicker or hell even have a hurricane during some point in the main quest. -Necronomikid

I’ve said this before, but I’d like to see it set in China. I would like to see how things are over there. You could either be Chinese or an American, maybe a descendant of a POW or something. As far as here in the US, I’d like to see Alaska or some other cold weather state. They could incorporate cold weather survival into hardcore mode.

Aside from where it’s set, I’d just like to see more realistic combat. Instead of the enemy charging up to you guns blazing, it would be nice if they took cover and you fought from more of a distance like a normal gunfight would be. Also for realism, I’d like to have a mode where you could turn off guns/ranged weapons and play only melee and unarmed. You could still have them in the normal game for sneak attacks or whenever, but it’s kind of asinine to have 5 enemy firing bullets at you and you’re running at them with a power fist. It’s also stupid to have a Fiend running at you with a damn pool cue when I’m firing a machine gun. It’s like the old saying, you don’t bring a knife to a gunfight. It might be neat to see a Fallout game in Texas, but honsetly the story will be the only thing that matters. New Vegas isn't a fun game because you're getting to walk around a desert for hours playing in the sand, it's just about everything but the 90% of the landscape colored tan that's interesting. So whether it's New York, Chicago, Seattle, or Austin the big thing for me will be the reason for being there. XxSick DemonxX 09:59, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

I'd LOVE to see a Fallout in Texas. I think it could work. But people liked NV and probably because it had electricity and sustainable resources. If they did that again in Texas, people would think they went cheap remake on it. It would have to go back to no power. Or maybe, since Texas has all that oil, stuff could work. Maybe even have an organized society?
