After i finished main quest in Point Lookout i was standing on islad south from lighthouse. Then i started loosing health without any clear reason. Later i found out there is a smuggler sniper south from this location who is able to notice and shoot me from a great range, although i was in [hidden] mode, wearing chinese stealth armor, havig 10 perception an still didn't notice red marker or him even when looking in his direction with scoped weapon. Is this the only npc who is able to shoot player when [hidden]? --188.230.177.153 18:17, October 24, 2011 (UTC)

I had that happen to me too. So it's a Smuggler with a Sniper Rifle near the light house? I was wondering who the hell it was that was shooting at me.--Ryker6103:44, November 4, 2011 (UTC)~8:43pm 11/03/2011

Yeah, that smuggler has crazy detection range for some reason. I had him in my crosshairs at the point where NPCs barely show up on your screen and he still detected me and started shooting somehow. So I'm not sure if it's a case of he can see you as long as you can see him deal or not. User:Great_MaraMessage 03:47, November 4, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure it's a case of "he can see you as long as you can see him", I could be wrong. It's most likely a balancing issue of some sort. When I noticed that my health was dropping and I was taking damage, I equipped my Victory sniper rifle, and looked all over the place through the scope, including the lighthouse and didn't see anyone. I just went back there to kill that smuggler. As I swam towards the lighthouse, explosions started going off around me. I figured it was a smuggler with a missile launcher, only thing was he wasn't anywhere on the ground at the base of the lighthouse, there was only the sniper. The missile launcher smuggler was inside the lighthouse, along with other smugglers, which tells me that he was probably on the top of the lighthouse. And the missile launcher doesn't even have a scope on it. That is what I'd call insane detection range.--Ryker6122:32, November 6, 2011 (UTC)~2:31pm 11/6/2011 "For the struggle of survival is a war without end!"

I think it's just a scripted thing like Arkansas from Minefield. He doesn't really detect you, he just gets a free pass courtesy of the game engine. That's why you're still hidden and he never misses and doesn't show up on your radar. Zac hemker 18:40, November 13, 2011 (UTC)
