It basically involves dumping the frames in Flash, at the desired size, and making the gif, using those images, based on the Flash animation timeline. We should keep things subtle. However neat animated gifs look, they distract the reader from the content. That's why for example I shielded Master from direct vision. If you can, add a larger version of the current ones, like Four Leaf Clover to the format Swolerat uploaded (Big Leagues. Okay, million dollar question. Do we want to just replace the current Fallout 4 Perk/SPECIAL/quest? infobox images with better quality versions? Or do we want to use the equally high-quality animations? Like Skyrim, Fallout 4 uses Flash (.swf) for most, if not all the interface - which means, vector graphics, which means, if you want vault boy taking up every inch of your 4k monitor, you can have him, with zero loss of quality. So basically, are we going to follow Bethesda down the road of animations for everything, or are we going to keep things all subtle like - and just use static images? Your thoughts below, and thanks. Aren't those .gif images, actually? Anyhow, this time it may actually be a proper way to insert the animations (considering it looks sometimes odd without the animation). ☢ Energy X ☣ 10:37, November 30, 2015 (UTC)
Nah, with that new engine Bethesda made for Skyrim, they introduced using Flash for the UI, which is vector-based animation. Like with gif, same idea behind basic animations, only it isn't limited to 256 colors, and it retains full quality regardless of size. Technically, there are better, newer solutions outside of Flash, for web-based animations - beyond gif; but they're either a little bit too new, to be widely supported across browsers for everybody, or we'd be running face first into The Great Wall of Wikia (and let me tell you, that hurts :p). Huh, in that case, I doubt it will display properly. But, is there a way to convert them to .gif format? If not, then I guess we are stuck with static .jpg or .png images. ☢ Energy X ☣ 12:29, November 30, 2015 (UTC)
