I have been thinking lately, and read up that Bethesda bought the rights to the Fallout franchise... does that mean they have the rights to all the Fallouts? If so i believe it would be beyond amazing if they remade the first two fallouts to be first person shooters. I dont know how many of you feel about this matter but i think it would make for a hell of a market, and spark some more interest in the series, not that it really needs any.

Why re-make what are already such amazing games? And believe it or not, the graphics used helped create the atmosphere. Updating it with better graphics would probably ruin the intended feel. (Which was the original purpose, as Fallout 1/2 intentionally used outdated graphics design.) ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 08:33, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
I really wouldn't mind seeing a remake of the originals, especially 2. And I love the originals too, but I'd give anything to see them with today's gaming technology. It'd be absolutely phenomenal. Also, there's a reason Fallout 3 was praised for it's atmosphere... --Enclavesymbol 08:47, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Well, why not though? i mean they are amazing, but for me i feel like it would be really neat to see them through the first person lens. The way Fallout 3 and New Vegas felt with the first person you got to see it first hand and the feeling was just astounding with the up close fighting and what not. You would also reach a broader range of people since a lot of people now a days [even some who follow the Fallout series] are less patient for the turn based playing, and having a way to go through the first two games without the turn based would spark more interest, i feel its a win win for both fan base and the company itself. the first games had that super dark feel to it which wouldnt be impossible for the people at Bethesda to project even in first person shooter.

Fallout 1/2 are under Interplay's control until December 31. I really don't see the point in remaking them though... Its like saying we should redo the mona lisa. Agent c (talk) 14:36, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

If anything I'd like to see them released on consoles. The PS3 and IIRC, XBOX360 support peripheral keyboards. I don't really have a computer set-up where I can play a game and keep websurfing at the same time. Great Mara (talk) 19:13, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
I disagree, it's like saying we should redo Texas Chainsaw Massacre or redo Transformers or redo Resident Evil or redo... wait. --Enclavesymbol 20:28, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Remake and re-release are two very different things. While I'd buy and undoubtably enjoy an F3/FNV version of the original games, I think it would be a disservice to the series as a whole as long as there are still new stories to be told in the wastes. A re-release, like the Halo: Anniversary, would be the way to go in my mind. Optional graphics update, with otherwise untouched gameplay... and ports to console just to make me happy.XxSick DemonxX (talk) 17:48, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

The idea of a remake by itself is not such a bad thing, but in reality it would inevitably pull time and effort away from new development. --FFIX (talk) 11:56, March 20, 2013 (UTC)
