Nice mockup. I have a different idea. Why don't we create weapon and armor categories as listed here, add the appropriate categories to all armor and weapons, and then replace Kingclyde's generic link to Jury Rigging with a link to the appropriate category?--Gothemasticator 03:08, June 7, 2011 (UTC) |

+ | :I edited the mock-up, does that link look and/or act any better? Also I tried to give JR its own tab but that would mean changing the templates themselves at the source so I improvised.- RASIC Talk Poll 05:28, June 7, 2011 (UTC) |
Revision as of 05:28, 7 June 2011
There seems to be a disagreement regarding whether or not Jury Rigging info should be included in the relevant articles. I can see the benefit of having the information but I'd like to see it presented in a different manner, as part of the infobox for the item. The infobox serves as a place to quickly find basic information about an item, so I think it's best put there.
For the poll below, there are three options:
- Include jury rigging as a simple line of text in the article
- This is the easiest way to include it, as it doesn't require altering weapon and armor infoboxes
- Include jury rigging as a line in the infobox for weapons and armor
- This seems to me to be the better choice, despite the additional work involved
- Don't include Jury Rigging info
- This requires the player to guess at what can be used to repair an item. Certainly not ideal for what should be an information resource, that is, this wiki.

If included, should it be part of the infobox?

The thing about Jury rigging on the pages at the moment is that is just thrown in anywhere, and I also feel that it should have something like this for the link: "The laser rifle can be repaired by other Energy rifles" - RASIC Talk Poll 16:30, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Jury Rigging perk information should be added as a general statement, as above as long as it also links out to the perk page. Detailed information should be maintained in the actual perk page and not the weapon pages e.g. a detailed list of all the weapons in the group. As for the infobox, that is already bloated. We dont need to be adding in more information at present. However, once the new infoboxes come into play with collapseable sections then that is a different matter. 18:37, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Can you mock up an example of how it would look? Agent c 00:47, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
Mockup
There, this is what it would look like with it added in the infobox. I figured this would work good as we already do not state which weapons can be used for repair in the articles, why at a separate line for jury rigging when we can do this.--Kingclyde 02:22, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
