Carrying 1000's of 5.56mm & 10mm ammo, whilst useful, is completely unrealistic. I don't for a minute believe there should be ultra real limitations on ammo carrying capacity but there should be some limitation. Stalker has it about right with respect to that. I think it improves game play and encourages the player to have more stashes.

That's it!

You've got a point.. That would increase the gameplay a bit, instead of being a tank all the time. Perhaps the higher the difficulty the lower amount of 1 type of ammo you can have at once. DipCheese 21:41, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

♠ Well, you could always self-limit your ammunition, when it comes down to it. Personally I don't think it's practical to allow a character to carry a Fat man or Missile Launcher and yet somehow magically have the space for a Gatling Laser and still manage to carry a couple of Chinese Assault rifles and a spare set of Tesla Armor. So if it's realism you want (as realistic as you can get in a game, anyway) then there's no reason you can't limit yourself to the ammo you bring. I make it a point to bring only two weapons (three max) when I go out hunting, just to feel a bit more...well, authentic, I guess. So just stash some of the ammo you've got and you've got your problem solved. At the end of the day I suppose it's a good idea to allow people to choose to do such a thing, rather than limit the amount of ammo you can carry and have other players complain that the ammo is TOO limited. A player can always decide what not to do, after all, but it's more difficult when a player wants to do something (such as carry a huge load of ammo) but can't because it's limited to begin with. Just a thought. Cheers! Magnum101 08:54, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
