Forums: Index > Fallout series general discussion > New factions for future Fallout Games

This is a topic, where people post their idea's for new and future factions in furthur Fallout games.

I 'll start with my idea.

Posidon Energy- Worked very closely with the Enclave, sharing some of their facilities with them and some completely owned by Posidon Energy. After the Oil Rig and Navarro went down, they iniated and enacted their contingency plans and soon established themselves as a independant power in places all over the former US and Mexico and have their own sea based bases ( similar to the Oil Rig). In area's of great interest or worth to them, they have enlisted the help and cooperation of tribals and local communities and settlements by having a iron grip on resources such as power ( electricty, solar etc), food and water, medical supplies Has a tendency to see such people as 'corperate assests'. They aims are mysterous but neither good nor bad. Very advanced in power armour technologies and laser and plasma weapons, but over estimate their own strength.

2 Former Enclave vault, that established itself as a power in the wasteland after Navarro and the Rig went dark. Didn't agree with the Enclaves genocidal motives and was on the verge of declaring itself independant from the Enclave. Helps settlements and local communities that interest this former unit, but has a extreme isolationist policy.

So whatta you guys think and post your own ideas about future factions. 01:47, January 23, 2011 (UTC) Sec 19

I want a Vault-Tec related faction. I want to bring them to justice for what they've done. Ranger Sarina 01:31, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Vault-Tec did very little, apart from capitalizing on the fear of atomic war and actually listening to the Enclave. {{SUBST:Signatures/YuriKaslov}} 02:34, January 24, 2011 (UTC)

Vault tec could be a pretty good faction, it could be its own thing while harbouring remanents of the Enclave.

I have a idea through. Why not have a competition where players submit their idea's for new factions. And whatever is the best one/ones are in the next game 16:06, January 25, 2011 (UTC) Sec 19

I just want like a massive conquering horde. A huge army of barbarians with no limitations as to who is allowed to join and fight. They have humans, Super mutants and ghouls all fighting under a massive banner, and they're setting out to conquer everything in sight, just for the sake of conquering. Sort of like a huge army of raiders, with no qualms about using technology or medicine. All led by a charismatic warlord who cares more about gaining power than civlizing people. He knows it'll all crumble when he dies, and he doesn't care.

Maybe make them have some very powerful pre war tech that they treat with reverance, but more like a tribal worship than what the BOS does. And for bonus points, make the leader a Ghoul, as we haven't had a proper Ghoul villain yet. 17:40, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

Pretty much sounds like a disorganized legion to me :) but I know what you mean - a giant marauding horde which swallows everythin in their path is a somewhat astonishing foe. But I think after Children, Enclave and Legion it would be kinda awkward to serve a faceless army as an enemy again ..the kind of tribal worship of technology was already present in the Abbey (cut content of Fallout 2 which was restored with the Fallout 2 Restoration Project) although the monks there didn't understand the technology and were a peaceful bunch. In my opinion it would be refreshing to experience a story in a smaller scale with everyday problems like the gangs in a city like the Hub and so on.. maybe a crime lord gone mad or a bunch of terrorizing raiders attacking a large settlement in the wastes. Something with less manpower but more detailed characters instead :) Oh and there was a Ghoul villain called Set and a small time villain super mutant called Lou Tenant (:

SergeantDornan: They MUST make the Institute up in the Commonwealth. It was hinted at in FO3, and I just HAVE to see what is going on up there. I mean androids that are indestinguishable from humans? Their tech even kicks the Enclave's ass! So, in a future Fallout game, they damn well BETTER include the Institute!

Yeah, that'd be great! but I think if they'd done that, it would be a too obvious nod to Blade Runner. xNOKIx 11:11, February 25, 2011 (UTC)

What about a post-apocalyptic CIA? They would have access to prewar tech that even the main government couldn't et. I think they ought to think about that. I've often wondered what became of the CIA or FBI in the Fallout world. And, the CIA seems to operate independantly from the government quite often, so I doubt they would be mixed in with the Enclave. It could make an interesting new faction, what you guys think?--SergeantDornan 01:58, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

I think if they had any "human resources" worth saving they'd be included in the enclave. But I get your point, maybe a Faction of elitist vault-dwellers (not necessarily a blue suited vault tec- vault) which resided in a facility like the EPA... xNOKIx 12:26, March 3, 2011 (UTC)

yes! The Commonwealth would be a really cool settting. The Institue which is mentioned in passing in F03 could be a huge labyrinth occpuying the former Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). They could really do some good stuff we finding and "retiring" escaped outlaw androids (a'la Blade Runner). They could also exploit more of the underground movement to hide escaped androids. Check out my Commonwealth themed rpg if you are interested at Obsidian

Don't get me wrong, I like the theme of the Commonwealth.. but the problem with this location/setting would be that it simply would be Blade Runner and nothing else... xNOKIx 07:33, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
