When I first started playing New Vegas I had a set of metal armour equipped, which gives a -1 AGL under condition. After sometime the armour broke so I sold it, but now the stat decrease is permanently there (it still says "METAL ARMOR -1 AGL") and I've tried equipping some other metal armour and then unequipping it but it just stacks! I'm playing on Xbox 360 so I might need to mod my save to clear the problem using a save editor or something, can anyone help me toward a solution?
You could try doing the same thing with a pre-war outfit. Equip it, break it, and then sell it while still wearing it. If you can do that maybe you'll get the +1 effect to agility to permanently cancel out the -1. Just a thought. --DeadlyPrey(talk) 18:57, September 1, 2012 (UTC)
If DeadlyPrey's suggestion doesn't work, there is another way to get a permanetly boosted +1 Agility from a pre-war outfit to cancel the negative effects of the metal armor, though Dead Money is needed.
- While wearing the outfit approach the Sierra Madre vending machine.
- For the sake of keeping things easy, make sure the only pre-war outfit you have is the one equipped. There are several boxes setting in front of the machine so bring as many as you'd like and simply store them there until needed.
- Now activate the machine and trade in the outfit for chips.
This should give you a +1 Agility. You can do this until your agility maxes out, and recieve the bonuses accordingly (though I don't believe it adds to your skills while in Level Up Skill/Perk selection). If you keep doing this past a +10 Special, your holster and reload animations become insanely quick...and eventually glitchy. So try not to leave the 10-12 Agility range.
