I love putting every single mine and c4 into a box and when i'm ready to end the game i get a companion go somewhere REALLY high save it, drop all mines and everything else i have to add flavor, then detonating it, or shoot it with Archimedes. NOTE: try this and when you put all your equipment i mean ALL your equipment, I have a PIP T.V so it's easy to not get bored dumping every thing one thing at a time!User:Denis517

I enjoy collecting all possible weapons, clothes and armor and setting up a player safehouse. I also gather all garden gnomes possible and decorate the interior with them. In my current game, I have set up in the Abandoned BoS Safehouse. The evil garden gnome is standing over the beheaded corpse with a machete resting on its body. The six beds with footlockers are decorated with various faction armor and weapons as they would be in their respective safehouses. RichardASpencer 14:17, June 21, 2011

Today I reverse-pickpocketed a set of T51 power armor onto Max (the little boy in Freeside who carries Euclid's C-Finder) and my spare set of Remnant power armor onto Stacey (the little girl he chases around). Now I get to watch them play "Brotherhood vs Enclave." It's certainly amusing to watch a mini-BoS paladin chasing around a mini-Enclave trooper while yelling, "Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!"--174.0.106.101 20:26, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Also its fun to decorate your house, I have all sorts of unique items/weapons set up for display...though my new vegas house is nothing compared to my Fallout 3 Megaton house. My Megaton house had almost everything unique in the game on display in it, hundreds of every drug in the desk in my bedroom, a fridge overloaded with every alcohol, and pile of pre-war money that was about 5 feet wide and 3 feet tall haha.

Arizona Killer, without a doubt. Stealthing my way through the nearby Ranger Outpost to get some fancy armour? So-so. Sneaing through a crowd and avoiding the hell out of people who could see my disguise? Getting better. Equally stealthily tackling a nearby sniper tower and silently taking out the inhabitant? Truly Bond-level mediocrity. But capping off this stealth mission by declaring "screw it" to the whole charade and talking out the President and just about his entire entourage with a single shot from my orbital super-weapon? Priceless.

Other than the entire game, what are your opinions on the most enjoyable pass times in the game? Any quests, locations, random encounters, perks or companions.

Starting up the robot army under Fortification Hill. That sudden rush of industrial noise means very, very bad things will happen to your opponents later on. Wunengzi 13:14, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

I wish there were more recreational things to do. Like, there’s pool tables all over the place, I wish you and a companion could shoot a game of pool together. If you ever played GTA IV, that was quite a fun way to kill time. I’d also like to see the gambling ban lifted after a few game weeks or something, not that I need the caps, hell there’s more caps to be made in this game than you could ever spend, but just for something to do. I like to explore old world places, but thats just me ToestheUnwholy 15:19, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

I like to set up booby traps with mines. Once I set up a minefield, (12 frag, 2 plasma),outside of Caesar's tent, went in, shot at Caesar with the Gobi & then left the tent at a full run. Everyone followed, setting off a huge explosion as I dropped down into the gap between the fence and the hilltop Caeser's tent is on. Zero damage to me, those who didn't die were thrown all over the camp and could be delt with 1 or 2 at a time.

To pass the time, I set up safe houses etc where I stash equipment and supplies. I mine the approaches and doorways to keep out unwanted visitors. To me, the best and most secure area is Vault 3. The place is very easily defended and Fiends constantly respawn so that makes for a pleasant afternoons sport of hunting. They also kindly provide plenty of equipment on their dead bodies to build an impressive armoury within Vault 3.

What I'd like to see is a mod in which you can hire guards and populate areas like Vault 3 with residents. You should be also be able to instruct your companions to hang out there. It'd be nice to be given the option to be able to clean it up and get it functional again. You pay caps to install upgrades to the Presidential suite at the Lucky 38 so why not other places in the game?

I also like to go on foraging missions, collecting food etc by hunting for Brahmin and Nighorns and harvesting Yuccas and Agave. You get to quickly learn where all the pest food sources are and it's fun to wander the wastes gathering your lunch and occassionally blowing somethings head off.Captain Taipan 05:24, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Banging Sarah Weintraub and Red Lucy. Zac hemker 17:03, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

"Banging Sarah Weintraub and Red Lucy." Now if you could do that at the same time.... heh heh ;) Captain Taipan 04:55, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

As others have said, setting up little outposts and mining all approaches can be very fun. I spent a long time gathering mines, plasma and otherwise, and powder charges to surround Wolfhorn ranch. Made that place impenetrable! Also, one of my favorite ways to play is as one of Caesar's most talented frumentarii, and plan elaborate ways to sabotage the NCR and assassinate their leaders. Arizona Killer is great quest, too. Try to set up an assassination that gets Kimball, Moore, and Ranger Grant all in one go. It is tricky to do. BILLYOCEAN

Why would you need to make Wolfhorn ranch impenetrable? Nothing typically spawns in that area. The closest place that would is Raided farmstead and that’s too far away for them to wander into.

What I like to do is go to Vault 3, the outside area where all the Fiends are. Kill them and drag their corpses all over to the area next to where you fast travel to. That way whenever I return they all spawn right there next to me. I pull out my sniper rifle and pick them all off while they walk around unknowingly. You could just as easily do that and then mine the whole area too. In fact I’m going to do that now and see what happens. ReapTheChaos 11:08, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

Funny you mention this. In my current game, I rounded up every single one of those Fiends and got them to chase me into "Zap's Moon Signs" where I killed them. Then I dragged their copses downstairs and piled them in the large room below (where the three workbenches are). So now, not only are the South Vegas Ruins permanently clear of hostiles, but I can go back into Zap's Moon Signs every few days, stand at the top of the stairwell and lob grenades at 18 to 19 Fiends all piling into a stairwell in a suicidal attempt to reach me.--174.0.106.101 18:07, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

ok reap the chaos so what if instead of lobbing the nades at them you throw mines down at the base of the stairs like they do to you i once went into the h&h tool company that dick robert put down 5 mines on 1 door luckily i had light step sadly boone did not--Corporal grif 02:05, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

So you're saying that if you move the fiend bodies away from the area around Vault 3, they won't repawn? Hmm.... very interesting. I will try this out. Captain Taipan 01:10, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
Well, technically they still respawn, but they'll respawn inside that building instead of where they're normally found. All respawning NPCs/creatures will respawn at the precise location at which their corpses are left. There's a lot of fun you can have with this knowledge if you're patient enough to lure NPC's creatures into buildings and/or spend some time dragging corpses around. I can roam around the Fiend Territory without encountering any of them now. Cook-Cook's and Nephi's crew now respawn inside of New Vegas Steel because I had both crews chase me into that building before killing them. Also, the Fiends who normally engage the NCR troopers on the south side of McCarren now respawn inside the Allied Technologies Offices building (along with it's giant ant inhabitants).--174.0.106.101 11:57, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

my favorite thing to do is explore the areas for rare/unique items i currently have almost 40,000 caps but i dont use that much caps for my favorite guns this machine .44 magnum survivalist rifle ranger sequoia a light in shining darkness but above all my favorite thing is exploring vaults excluding vault 34 because that place just hurts my head trying to explore it because at heart all vaults are just a bunch of fucking mazes hunting ghouls and fiends are my favorite things with my dog rex and my friend boone as we kick caesers ass and side with the ncr but other than that i do every quest i can every thing i can to alternate the ending my favored targets are the powder gangers they always suffer the worst fate and our often tortured one of my favorite activities scouting out an area--Corporal grif 01:58, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Go to YouTube and look up Veronica Spaceflight Program. 'Nuff said. 99.230.251.238 13:29, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

I like to just carry a huge cache of weapons with me and when I get bored just save and then see just how many people I can kill without healing or sneaking at all. This can be hilarious and if you want to challenge yourself, you can always go to someplace like the boomer mess hall where there are tons of NPCs. Another great challenge spot is the kings school of impersonation because there are some damn many of them. I do get bored easily though...I've got 320,000 caps (I was only able to bring back 7 gold bars from DM AND I play 360) all the unique weapons and basically every quest done (except for two that are glitched and won't complete :( Now I'm just waiting for OWB so I can have so more fresh gameplay to spend several dozen hours in haha (Yes, I go that slow in Fallout, in Fallout 3 I had played 175-200 hrs. before I finished the main story, including broken steel) --Crossfire_XVI, 17:11, June 21st, 2011.
