Through experiences of pickpocketing, I've realized that it depends on the NPC. Also, pickpocketing things like ammo cases and NCR dogtags and simple weightless quest items = very easy to pickpocket. If you try taking large quantities, or guns/armor, it'll be more difficult. Also, if you can get behind a wall and do the 3rd person "spin screen around" thing to pickpocket some1, then I believe that may decrease chances of being caught. I spent quite some time trying to get caesar's armor through reverse pickpocket, but it eventually worked. Same with trying to get Big boomer off old lady gibson. (After these experiences I simply 1 shot killed others for their items with a silenced sniper)--[[User:OhMyParry|OhMyParry]] 05:16, August 27, 2011 (UTC)

It should also be worth mentioning that the weight of apparel may effect the outcome. (I usually take off everything I have, even if it is light armor, and I never use my stealthboys, dunno why). Okay, so my sneak skill is at 100, i'm wearing the assassin suit, and I'm using a stealth boy. AND I STILL suck at pickpocketing. it seems like about 70% of the time i am unsuccessful at pickpocketing and its getting pretty annoying. And yes, my pip-bpy light is off and i have tried pickpocketing at night, and pickpocketing people who sleep, and its not much different. what can i do to increase my pickpocketing ability?
