Reading the stuff on this site i know the encounter is random and luck probably effects it my luck is at 7 with the bobble head lucky 8 ball and Lucky's shade, and i am just having no luck force spawning the encounter i've tried doing this at both the barn behind vault 101 and the temple of the union can't use rockopolis sense something already happened there. My question really is how many times did you have to quick load and check the location again? Because i've probably done this nearing 100 times or maybe more. I mean is this normal or does it usually show up before that many? I'm starting to wonder if it already didn't happen and i missed it somehow, and if i did whats my best way to find it? Just by checking back on random event locations i've been too?

I made a tutorial on this a few topics ago, but it only concerns one spot. I thought it was actually predetermined..turns out it is really blind luck, but theres a definite sum of random encounter [locations] which can be tried when looking for the firelance. You can try going to the spot I mentioned [specifically], ignore all that 'preset location' crap. That's just my personal experience that I'm hopping will help.

If anyone wants to get the firelance, go to the flooded metro near arlington library (BUT it is important that you approach it from the west!!) make sure u save your game to. it didnt take many tries to get it. the hard part was finding it after it fell :)
