I am trying to "decorate" my Megaton house with stuff I have collected from the wasteland, but i cant get it on to shelves, or arrange it in any sort of orderly fashion. Does anyone know a way to do this?

In-game, the process for doing this is a bit of a chore. You have to use the Grab button (Z by default on the PC) and the mouse to move items around. Some tips: move slowly, in a walk or a crouch; remember that items have a grab/clip zone slightly bigger than they visually appear to have; remember that the physics engine is reasonably accurate in terms of how you push or move an item. This can get very tricky if you are trying to move items close to other items already placed, e.g., when stacking. Some items are inherently prone to glitchy behavior, such as leather belts. They can start swinging around like crazy when you pick them up.

While I have no direct experience, I would guess that the GECK editor allows for more precise manipulation. DreadPirateMurphy 17:31, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Is there any way to do it on the 360? Thanks for the previous post btw!

There is a button on the controller that lets you grab things -- I don't know which one. Check the manual. During the tutorial, it is the button that you press to grab a toy in the toy chest. Unfortunately, there is no GECK for XBox, so you'll have to do it by picking things up and dropping them where you want them. DreadPirateMurphy 20:36, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

On 360, when you click the right control stick, it grabs an item. It takes a LOT of practice getting it in the right direction and putting it in the exact spot. It took me a total of 7 hours to finally finish my house decoration on 360. If you plan to do it, you better have some time on your hands, and some really agile fingers... --CNavellier 23:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
