Question. Just wondering, how are people playing the game out? Backing House, NCR or Legion and why? And are some of you saving game at critical points and progression "alternate universes" and playing each faction through the end?

I'm backing House. The guy is the only one who seems to have a plan. The other two options are double-edged swords, as well. Caesar's Legion is brutal, tyrannical, and technologically inept, while the NCR is inefficient and in many cases just plain incompetent. Schneidend 00:53, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

I did all of them; there really is no difference between the endings besides which faction takes over Vegas. Don't forget about Yesman, which i thought was the better of all endings. If you want to do all the endings, try to avoid doing stuff for a faction against other factions, then save it right after you have completed Volare! Now you can do each of the chains. I believe I was able to finish each of the endings from my Volare! save in 2 hours each. - bcherone 21:12, November 3, 2010

i usually back ncr, mainly its because there everywhere, like i tried befriending caesar but he only has 1 little outpost, and after that few safe areas for people who are anti ncr and id prefer not to be firing my guns every 10 seconds because a patrol spotted me, no matter how weak it was, plus with things in nipton i was just disgusted by caesar, i usually play a good char, which is easy to do now that 90% of enemys are giving me karma, lol i can afford to steal everything, still i tried backing house but when i saw it pop up saying the ncr are watching me and any further cooperation with house will lead to "consequences" i just popped open his chamber and disconnected his ass, lol Toolazytomakeaaccount 07:30, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

I know posting in this topic is a bit late, but what the hell lol. Personally, I prefer my victors in this order (from best to worst); NCR, House, Legion, Indie. The reasons? Well here is how I look at it. NCR, while driven to the Mojave for selfish reasons (they want water and power), are trying to bring order and civility to an otherwise chaotic wasteland. While they may have some corrupt politicians and war-hungry military leaders, for the most part they are trying to do good and bring back civilization like it was before the bombs fell. The Legion is the flip side of the coin; driven by good motives but doing evil. Caesar wants to bring back ancient Rome because he sees it as a successful way to survive in the new post-apocalyptic world. For the most part, he is right. That being said, most of his Legion does not agree with, or even care about, his ideals. It is all just one giant slaver nation. While the NCR will usually attempt negotiations of peace and make allies or ask people to join the nation before forcibly annexing areas, the Legion doesn't give that option and is far more brutal. You either join or die. They also treat women like shit. Mr. House, while driven solely by selfish goals, still does some good. He brings order and peace to the Strip, Freeside, Westside, and the rest of Outer Vegas. However, that's about as far as it goes. Anything outside the Vegas city lines aside from Hoover Dam doesn't really interest him (except maybe Goodsprings and Primm). Places like Novac have to fend for themselves. Even the people who are under his watch he doesn't really care about. He is only interested in staking his claim in the world, ruling over a tiny empire in an attempt to keep part of the Old World alive. On the plus side, he provides a wall between NCR and the Legion so they can't wage further war on each other, thus endangering other smaller factions and communities near Vegas. So for me, the NCR is my first pick, House a close second, and the Legion in third. As for Independent/Yes Man ending, I don't even see it as an option. Putting New Vegas in the hands of an unpredictable Courier and letting chaos and anarchy reign across the Mojave is just irresponsible and stupid. 71.171.112.74 09:00, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

As far as "game lore" goes I back NCR because, despite their problems, the ending slideshows reveal a lot of good scenarios when working with them from a lasting truce with the Brotherhood, helping the Followers grow, local towns/settlements prospering from trade, and of course that band of crimson-colored slavers getting kicked back over the river. HOWEVER, in real life it would be tough... Whereas I don't want to (SPOILER) eradicate the Brotherhood but Mr. House would probably have unknown technologies (as the Followers mentioned) that could help everybody in the Wasteland. Plus, he's probably not a very good tyrant if he is a bag of bones with robots who needs the aid of some lowly Courier to do all of his dirty work... And if you want to have a laugh, kill every person and thing until the only option left is Yes Man... Then throw NCR's General to his death. It's Fallout, baby! Caesar's Legion. I have a fascination with Rome, and while the Legion is primarily a slaver nation, talking to Caesar reveals he is afraid he has become a leader of just a bunch of raiders rather than an actual society. That's why he plans to use New Vegas as his Rome, and start making the Legion into more of a society. And he doesn't enslave everyone, only some. The rest are peacefully lorded over. Even if you kill Caesar and put Lanius into power(which makes many decisions death with more brutally), the Legion is still a better choice than the imperialist NCR.Darth Roxas (talk) 17:06, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
