Is there a .css code or something to make the background of the slider different? I mean if we have green color coding, wouldn't it be also better to use it in the slider? <font size=3px><span style="border: 2px solid firebrick; background-color: azure; white-space: nowrap; ">☢ Energy X ☣</span></font> 20:57, July 1, 2015 (UTC)

I agree that the old/current ones suck, they could definitely be flashier. --The Ever Ruler (talk) 03:13, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

Forums: Index > Wiki discussion > Frontpage Portal

Hi Folks,

I'm just going to come out and say it. Our portals suck, and I include the frontpage in this. They need a radical overhaul in my ever-so-humble opinion. They're too wordy and not visually attracive.

In lieu of an overhaul, I've as a temporary/trial measure, stuck a slider on the front page to see how it looks. At the moment the 4 pages it links to are Fallout 4 (article), The timeline, Fallout Shelter (Portal), and the Chatroom. I've selected these somewhat by fiat, but I figure that people dropping by the front page at the moment are more likely than not looking for Fallout 4 and Shelter info, and since we have a released game on Shelter, the portal page was probably more appropriate than the article in terms of getting people where they want to go. Chat is there to help encourage people to stay around and use it.

I kinda expect this to be a bit controversial, so if feedback is overwelmingly negative we can pull it. However, the only fair way to see how it looks is to put into place, and the rule specifically say to be bold, so there's be being bold.

So, Any feedback on the slider being there is welcome here. I'd also like your thoughts on Portal 2.0 - how can we make those eyesores better?

Thanks. Agent c (talk) 20:42, July 1, 2015 (UTC)
