When I turn to Fawkes and enter into a conversation with him, the dialog box appears with the text "What have you got on your mind?" but he never says anything. His mouth never moves, and the game sticks there without the dialog options appearing. The only way I can get out of it is to load a save from before I tried to enter into the conversation (aggravating if the last save was a while back!). I really didn't consider this to be a major hassle until today when I installed The Pitt addon and got up to where I had to enter The Pitt and have to leave him behind. I have no way of talking with him. The only pre-glitch save I have is from way far back and I really don't want to go back that far. I have gotten past having to leave him behind by activating the railway cart in the Pitt tunnel which takes you into The Pitt. After entering the Pitt a message comes up saying "Fawkes has returned to the Museum of History." My only concern with this is that I won't be able to get him back after completing the Pitt, and of course there's no way of going back to the Wasteland until The Pitt is done. In addition to The Pitt, I also have the Broken Steel addon, but this problem didn't exist until well after that was installed so I doubt it was caused by that.

Is there possibly any workaround I can do, a console command perhaps? I really don't want to risk permanently losing such a powerful ally!

Hmmmm, I'm really not sure as I don't have Fallout 3 on PC. You may want to check out this page for a list of all console commands. Telos 06:43, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
