One of my friends brought up Fallout New York and i got interested and came here. Anyway he brought up that it could also be about the surrouning towns and areas, like buffalo and other smaller areas, kind of like Fallout 3 is about Washington D.C. and the surrounding areas. I think it would be cool to see some suff like Tommy guns in New York like mobster clothing or even cults revloving around it User:Soap2459

I think it would be pretty cool if they made a fallout game with New York in it. There is so many places in and around New York City

There's so many places in and around virtually every city in the world, though. --Solbur 23:00, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

That might be cool. But there would not be much room for the wide open waste other than Central Park. but even then that still wouldn't be alot. It would be alot different than the Fallout 3 style of playing because of all the urban and city area. I think it would still be interesting. Maybe they would feature the sewer gator!! Maniaphobic6 04:18, 9 July 2009 (UTC)the picture of NYC desroyed is just a horribal way to design it the entire city is flooded and collapsing i say for the desruction of the city is make it habitabal but not to hard to navigate but put some ruins to show that some serious damage is done like the top of the empire state building is blown off and a scyscraper is bending into it if you look at D.C. the buildings are intact and the city is some what habitable but what is crucial is to make alot of buildings enterable for looting or just camping out but i say that it is year 2378 and that the world is being rebuilt

well after the place gets bombed by china the skyscrappers would probably fall like dominos leaving nothing but rubble in most partsPaladinjames92 19:30, June 22, 2010 (UTC)paladinjames92

You don't think that in 200 years no one would have cleared it out already? Especially since Commonwealth had to go through it to get to D.C. User: MoonshadowDark

Nah, when a tsunami happens.. this destroys but a percentage of a country... barely anything..... they could take a great deal of time to fix up.... imagine 1% of those people doing that... it would take much longer... and with an even larger landmass... i'd still say there is a big mess ..... < Connah >

I think if they do a New York Fallout, the premise should be that the entire city was destroyed and is completely uninhabitable, and the majority of the game should take place in the subway system below it (with various factions grouping in various parts of the system). There should be a few upper-world areas, but most of it should be underground. Because a game with NYC above-ground would just be too obvious.

Too bad about Metro 2033 already doing that then.--OvaltinePatrol 19:22, November 16, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I don't know where you got your facts about the New York underground but it's not THAT big.

.S

New York seems overused in pop culture these days. Maybe Boston or London. If in the U.S then i have to say Boston, cradle of the revolution and all that jazz. Could even go with some stupid story line like the commonwealth being controlled by some sort of king and relate it to the american revolution with the enclave being the hero...--Mooseman780 04:46, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

Enclave as heroes? Well it'd certainly be one big twist. MoonshadowDark

If there were ever goin to be a fallout New York. it's set in 2387 Where as only half of Manhattern Island has been rebuilt from the ruins of a nuclear apocolypse, by maybe a new faction or a good hearted enclave? Radiation levels would have died down two decades ago making it inhabitable. The main character is set in an underground Cryo Vualt in brooklyn. You have been in cryo since before the war and you get awoken by a faction working for the Enclave, you were ranked a commander in the U.S. Army. You are taken to the surface to their convoy and escorted back to Manhatten. Then a rebel faction attacks, you almost die, Enclave come with tanks and destroy the rebels and they escort you to an experiment room in the empire state building where you are in critical condition, You have a choice to be revived with implants to be a cyborg (half human, half robot), or you can just stay as a Normal Human or be a Biotic. (Have abilities like a forcefield and are able to pick up and throw objects using somekind of kinetic force). And more options. Brooklyn (in the ruins of highrise apartments), Manhattern (A city inhabitible by maybe a few million people) and New Jersey are the 3 area's you can travel with in. NJ covers a large area of New York so atleast half would be your vast wasteland of nothingness. http://kbarts.hu/tmp2/city_dest_final.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/icyhot85/Backgrounds/FallenCity.jpg User:CodyPettit

i personally view NYC as completely different. Cody, that's just too much- psychic powers, cryogenically frozen prewar people. your PC would already know where major stuff is then. i dont think it should jump another hundred years either. sorry but it just doesn't add up.

Guys I'm actually planning to make such a mod involving New York, my current decision will most likely having it as a second area to go to, and raise the level cap 5 after Broken Steel's Cap, for now the work i do on it will be made from pure Fallout 3 materials, until i've gotten quite a bit done (Ex: The starting questline that gets you to there and the beginning of your time there, i'll mainly hover over ModDB once i've gotten a good foothold on it. I had this idea, alas, i bears much of a resemblance from new vegas. Imagine, 30 years after the events of Fallout 3. The brotherhood of the west coast have been traveling east after being driven out by the NCR (they have been at war, despite the mojave chapters settling their disagreements). They have waited till Elder Lyons has bitten the dust so that they could take control of the chapter, he was the only reason the D.C. Brotherhood were so kind to the people there. With him gone, they install a new leader.they in turn become far more like they were intended to be. Greedy about technology and their right to own it. They send the Lyons Pride on many suicide missions resulting in they death of all of the members, safe Sarah Lyons. She is paralyzed from the waist down. Capitol hill is now become their property. Subsequently the entire are is theirs. Most towns of the capitol have been integrated or destroyed. Only Megaton and Canton Barry Commons was able to keep its independence. They have worked their way north in search of more technology (to the south is the swamps etc. ie. no good tech) They arive at the hell hole of The Pitt. They find nothing but death and broken steel factories. They search the the entire city for any signs of schematics for the process of they very valuable machines. They find nothing. Any Machines have been completely destroyed. They know something is amiss. Only someone with a vast amount of power and numbers could have done this.

Their have been rumors of The Empire from scouts returning from the north. Not many have even heard of it. It is said that the island once know as Manhattan and the surrounding burrows have been walled off. To enter the city is perilous gangs and small settlements litter the bridges and tunnels. But, the NOT FINISHED

It would make more sense if it were some place relativley close to capitol wasteland, you know contiuing the lone wander's legacy.Lordzharks (talk) 01:38, December 1, 2012 (UTC)
