THE BETHSEDA (however you spell it) TEAM WAS SUPPOSEDLY DRAWING OUT A MAP OF BOSTON! -GameInformer Sources

I think that they should set it after u used the purifier with the wasteland all green and whatnot but still have the destruc but maybe the wasteland could be less wastelandish they should definately not go to the uk cos im from there and cant wait till im old enough and come and live in the states!

I have been thinking, if a Fallout 4 was to made, where would it be based. I was thinking maybe Australia and a new type of enemy could be a Radroo. (Get it? Kangaroo) anyone else have any thoughts?

DipCheese 11:37, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

That sounds interesting, but a big part of the series is the changed American culture. I don't think it would work in a different country. Broeman 12:08, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I'd like to have the map somewhere near the Capital Wasteland, with Oasis in the southeast corner, similar to the Vault 13/15 Locations in Fallout 1 and 2. (I'm dying to know what happens to good old Harold F3.) (Bethesda would have a hard time figuring out why "they" should have bombed Australia xD)

Kamuikaze 12:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, I'm guessing that if you didn't kill harold, then he would sit inside Bob for the rest of his life. No matter what, he's never leaving Oasis. Broeman 12:10, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I was thinking that myself. I'm not sure if anyone (besides Bethesda) knows if an other country besides the States was bomed. But anyway, a man can dream. But yeah it would be interesting to find out what happens to Harold, but it could be difficult seeing as you have a few choices with him..

....You know that the WHOLE world went up in nuclear flame riight? DipCheese 15:53, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Jup.. it depends on what Oasis-solution is canon.. but killing Harold is like erasing Dogmeat from the Fallout series. (ex. Tactics and stuff) The F4 location also should be a place where FEV-creatures make sence, if they don't go a totally different direction.

Kamuikaze 16:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I would like to see what has happened in other countries as well. They must A)not be in as bad a situation as the US or B) far worse off than the US. Either of these could explain how at least 2 immigrants, Tenpenny and Moriarty, may have come to be here. If the UK didn't get wiped out why emmigrate to a hostile, barren wasteland? Or, if it were nuked as well, how did they make it across the Atlantic? Anyway, where ever the Muties are taking the hostages to be changed would seem the likliest, if it's not in a DLC. Otherwise north of DC, in the vicinity of the Commonwealth and it's Institute for some badass tech goodies. NYC could be very interesting. Also, Radroos sound too funny to kill. --JiNX Bloodfang 11:41, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

NYC!!!

  • Who said Moriarty and Tenpenny are immigrants? Maybe they just come from other parts of the US where their families have always spoken like that... Snicker 21:03, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

The Australian Outback would be a good setting for fallout 4, u can have mutant roos and emus.--Deathclaw Killer 23:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

How about starting in the capitol wasteland, moving on to Philadelphia, and ending up in China? Shanghaied! Nerdychaz 03:39, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

As an aussie that lives in a small country town with a big US intelligence base right next door I think it is obvious why the chinese would nuke australia. I have a problem with why the chinese would bother attacking the US when australia offers everything and more that the US offers without half the complications. Zebidy

Well gee, maybe that's because a. they were at war with the U.S., not Australia, and b. As far as I know, Australia has no nuclear program, and is therefore not that much of a threat. And also, are you saying you would like it if your homeland was nuked? Broeman 20:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, China and the US were in a war at the time. Broeman 12:14, 29 January 2009 (UTC) I also live in Australia and i really enjoy playin f3 i reckon it'd be awesome to see sydney harbour all dried up and such sort of how it can be seen in mad max 2, aswell as more mad max references like a dogmeat, a v8 interceptor, a thunderdome reference Mr snip 10:42, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm an Aussie as well. I agree with Mr Snip, seeing the Sydney Harbour Bridge all nuked would be pretty cool, and going into the 'outback' with all the crazy mutated animals would be really sweet! DipCheese 13:55, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

What about San francisco,it'd be awesome to see the golden gate bridge all nuked and destroyed Werewolfhell 11:16, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Um... they kind of already did that, you know. Broeman 12:13, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I think all the countries would have been bombed otherwise if countries remained unharmed they prob would have went to the US to help rebuilt it or capture itSkitzless 12:12, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

The locations and areas from Fallout 1,2 and tactics would be great, you go real near San Francisco, and theres Vault 0,the lost hills bunker in california,New Reno was amazing, gamble on boxing fights, get wasted on jet!!!!I was a bit dissapointed with the aircraft carrier on FO3,im on 360,looked pretty naff considering, and much too small--Bluemax 15:33, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, well i personally would love to see what happens to Texas and some other mid western states, although Texas is huge, so i think they would have to include only north-central Texas region because it's such a huge state. I'd like to see what Dallas/FortWorth looks like in the year 2280...I mean, it would definately be nuked, since it's the largest metropolitan area in the state and the second World Trade Center is located in Dallas, not to mention Houston Space Station in southern Texas. Also maybe have the map reach into parts of Oklahoma, New Mexico, etc. Besides, it's closer to the West Coast than DC, being connected by Mexico, so i think it would be more reasonable to see Super Mutants in this region --Esscex 02:11, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I really can't see it being done in australia, but don't worry, I'm Canadian and I can't see it being there. I think this location for FO3 was pretty fucking cool, something in like italy or greece would be cool, but it's less plausible (basically I think well known landmarks surviving (aka washington monument) is a super cool idea. - Ashran111 04:26, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

I think Las Vegas would be cool. All those hotels to explore. The surrounding desert. Chips instead of caps. Lots of booze and drugs. Radhookers!!!!! LVTDUDE 05:40, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

I would like to see the story take place from two different points of view. One in La Vegas, Im sure it would be cool to see what happened there. The other in China, letting you play as a stealth soldier. Maybe even invading the same area your first persona is in. kirbyfan8 1:27, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Canada. No one has a reason to attack Canada so lets see the what happened to it.--NeoScott 07:07, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, i'm guessing they would set it in China if they did change the country since China already has played a huge part in the Fallout Games, but since Fallout is very dedicated to mid-twentieth century American culture i seriously doubt they would. Also with the way the new games are going i wouldnt be surprised if they Centered it around The United Kingdom. --DarkestStrife 07:17, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

My idea? Well... how about you start out with some of the smaller states on the Eastern Seaboard, then progress from Maine to Florida, and then you should be able to use ports alongside of each state bordering the ocean. The ports could take you to a small portion of Europe, the U.K., Alaska, Canada (Because the border is impassable) Japan, Cuba, Russia, and China. (Last three because they're all former Communists.) Also you should be able to buy a house in each state/country by either doing a great favor to the state/country or by buying them out. For State travel you can travel via monorail or train. For the ocean you should be able to get a small repaired boat from one of the other outlaying countries to drive to several sea ports, islands, and oil rigs. The currency will also be different for each country, Europe-Euros, Canada-Caps or Loonies (Canadian Dollars), China-Remnembi (RMB), U.K.-Pounds, Japan-Yen, and Cuba-Cuban Pesos (You should be able to convert each at a state/country bank). Minor outlaying islands should include; The U.S. Virgin Islands, Costa Maya (Mexico), The Carribean, Malta, Port Azores (a port halfway between the U.S. and the U.K) and Japan. All outlaing countries and islands aren't irradiated, though some water near Cuba and the border of Canada should be. There should be a high tech Scuba Set in Japan to buy to breath under water and fully protect radiation, there will also be some under-water colonies and wrecked boats and subs. Radio stations could include one for each country, also The People's Republic of Russia, Cuba, and China (even though it does exist.) The Beatle 01:10, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

I think that fallout 4 should take place in a big city. That would be good, something like London or New York, but the city shouldn't be totally nuked. There should be lots of surviving buildings somehow, but like the streets would be desolate with like broken cars, a few piles of rubble and a few craters. With less destroyed environment the game would seem more interesting. Also lots more vaults still functioning with people living in them would be good. --Brandon55rox 02:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

They really need locations out of Fallout 1,2 and tactics, but then there would be loads of story conflicts etc,but i guess we could just go there in a time between those and fallout 3,or even after i guess.New Reno, the eastern glow,San Francisco, the lost hills bunker in california, the NCR(New Californian republic),the midwestern brotherhood bunkers, the reservation(ghoul safe haven similar to underworld but vastly bigger, started by a scientist, cant remember his name),the mariposa military base, the sierra army depot that holds the Skynet intelligence computer system, generally just all the other coasts and areas--Bluemax 17:01, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I think that they should set it after u used the purifier with the wasteland all green and whatnot but still have the destruction but maybe the wasteland could be less wastelandish they should definately not go to the uk cos im from there and cant wait till im old enough and come and live in the states!

IMPORTANT NOTICE!:i just noticed something that might give out a location for fallout 4,when confessor cronwell rambles on about "atom" everytime he says the word glow,it is capitalised (Glow) hinting that we might be going to the glow in the future.

Werewolfhell 15:26, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Christians capitalise 'the Holy Ghost', doesn't mean it's a place. --Headcrab 16:24, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Wait...there's going to be a F4?! Link or it never happened! :P Turbine2k5 (What I am... - What I hear... - What I do...) 15:34, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

i cant wait for it!!!

the american rockies.

Well gee, that would be so freaking exciting. Except for that people don't live on top of mountains. Broeman 20:04, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

hi my name is cody woods and i live in houston i think fallout 4 should be here because of houston history to see a game in my home city with NASA witch i have been would be cool knowing all the things texas went through i think it should be here we are a big city and with so many people here i think the game would be good you could invole NASA to the pic of the story (but for the people that think it will be some where besides the US just stop thinking this game is the US i wouldnt want it in any other counrty i think this one is the best)

I would really like to see the next fallout to be based around Europe, like who wouldn't want to see a nuclear torn Paris or a crippled big Ben. Imagine walking around the cities of France or swimming through the lakes of Venice.the thing with lots of games now, they all seemed to be based in America (noting wrong with it) but i would really like to see other places for a game. but that's only my opinion, what's yours?

That's also been on my mind. I was thinking sort of a two stage phase. Starting in Paris, then crossing the water to Britain and London, like you suggest (or the other way around). Those two cities have plenty of landmarks, which I hope personally hope to see plenty in the new game. Though I think they will stay in the States. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 18:08, June 2, 2015 (UTC)
