Ive done a lot of reading about fallout and Ive come to the understanding the the original fallout lovers are for the most part unwilling to allow others to say anything bad about the first 2 which is why i cant wait for the 4th if Beth makes it better than the originals could ever be as turn based which no longer has a place in the fallout's as far as i am concerned fallout 4 should be in the western half of the US because the east just isn't as fun if fallout 4 used van buren as a base and built off of it it would be awesome the fps's need a truly great game. 20:48, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Fallout originated from being a turn based game you idiot, fallout not being turn based is like putting your head in a carbage can and wondering why it smells like shit BlackEdge 10:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
It's not like that at all. Fallout not being turn based is like Mario being 3D. It's not the same, of course, but it doesn't mean one is better than the other. I personally like Fallout 3 better than the first two, and I can't bring myself to enjoy them, but that doesn't mean I have to say something is wrong with them in order to understand why I don't like them. --Toast 14:32, November 12, 2009 (UTC)

Im hoping for new york--Meca-dope 16:06, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

if they make it in new york it will have a lot of metros and hopefully the towers will be connected by bridges.Maccy Man the man with no plan. 19:07, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I think a good places would New York, New Jersey, Texas, or New Orleans.

^Its more than likely going to take place somewhere in the mohave since its already been hinted that the Legion was going to play a role in it and that one guy hinted at it also by saying "the mohave was a really fun place to explore wasn't it?" when asked about Fallout 4.

I really want it to be the same as Van Buren would have been.

the new fallout should be texas because alot of corporations would be their like Lockhead Martin and Texas has a lot of oil so in the post-apocalyptic future the Enclave and the BOS would fight over the remaining resources where there should be more of than anywhere else. other good choices should be New York and California, the big states would have the most promise for good storys.

I thought up an idea for fallout 4 a while back which is pretty good imo. Basically it starts in a vault in a new york similar to how fallout 3 begins, you growing up in the vault and when you become an adult the vault is supposed to open but when it does you black out and when you wake up everyone is gone and the vault looks like it has abandoned for over a hundred years (like all vaults but 101 and 112 in fallout 3, you know all rusty and shit). As you first leave the vault you start walking around the new york metro area when another human sees you from a building and tells you to get inside. You go up top just as the sun is setting and the streets are filled with super mutants or similar but they only come out at night so you have to be careful when exploring the ground level. Most travel will be done across bridges from the skyscrapers. Anyway, the story follows that you are trying to find out what happened to your vault and everyone you knew and your search leads you to the commonwealth (there will be two different "levels", new york and the commonwealth, which can be travelled between at anytime you want after a certain point in the story). And at the commonwealth you find out that you are actually an android, implanted with the memories of someone from a control vault, ie opened 20 years after the bombs dropped, as an experiment to see how you would react to waking up in teh empty vault. At this point you can choose to either go back to new york and plan your revenge on the commonwealth by enlisting other androids and such or you can choose to rejoin the commonwealth and help with their experiments. The main quest line is meant to be rather short, about the same length as fallout 3, and both sides end with an unending collecting quest, either hunting androids for experiments or finding androids and helping them. The best part will be all the side quests which will come in two variations, ones which are non-related to you being an android, like helping settlements or finding people, and ones which are related to the main story. The second kind of quests will be more interesting generally and can lead to perks similar to the cyborg perk as you realise your android potential. tell me what you guys think, thx

I see Fallout: 4 as Subject Zero, the beginning and the end, an Android built to deal with the Super Mutant threat (perhaps built by Doctor Li). Halfway through the story, you realize you're an Android, and the Institute attempts to capture you to wipe your memory. Then the Enclave attempt to recruit you (for study, and other things), where as the Brotherhood offers to protect you in return for your knoweldge of Androids and Super Mutants. Choosing the Enclave/Brotherhood could end up with one faction being wiped out, or you being betrayed/betraying your chosen faction (similar to the choices with the Purifier, saving the Brotherhood and allowing them to study completely (dying) in order to further the extermination of super mutants, curing Ghouls etc, or choosing the Enclave and wiping out the Brotherhood, and everything in between). Choosing the Enclave would eventually have our Hero (or Villian) the President of the United States, where as choosing the Brotherhood would result in being made an Elder, providing neither betrays you (which is decided by choices early on in the game, Karma and Reputation, and plain old luck) While the game starts off in the Commonwealth, our Hero has fled to the now abandoned ruins of Anchorage Alaska, with a range of new, powerful creatures, and a race of Ghouls that have evolved to survive the harsh moutaineous terrain.. with terrifying results. Release scheduleEdit

Looking at Fallout 3's initial release in 2008 and the following year being filled in with DLC expansions until the final GOTY version, and now with Fallout: New Vegas coming out this year, this would seem to indicate a 2012 release for Fallout 4 if a similar strategy is followed. That would indicate that Bethesda has an additional 2 years development time for the next instalment, unless; there's no DLC content planned for FO:NV, FO:NV flops badly, or Bethesda cut into New Vegas' DLC content/revenue period - neither of which is a likely scenario.    phoenix     txt    data   09:57, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, Bethesda isnt making FO:NV, Obsidian is, so that puts a bit of a hole in your theory. Second, I believe Beth will probably be concentrating on TESV before making another FO. I wouldnt be looking for FO 4 until TESV comes out, unless they let someone else do it, like with NV. Raymorn 04:14, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

If anyone saw the 2010 VGA's, TESV has a release date of 11-11-11. So yes we may end up seeing Fallout 4 by 2012. It'd be a hell of a marketing ploy. "See the end of the world. Fallout 4. 12-21-12" MoonshadowDark The best idea since... Ever!

@Someone's idea about Fallout 4 set in New York where you wake up in a Vault etc.

Oh no. I don't want to grow up in the Vault - again. It's been the 2nd time already. First in Fallout 1, now in number 3. I'm kinda tired of being this super-duper SoB who gets all the fights and all the glory and all the money. I really wish that you'd again be a usual person, born in the outside world.

Plus, I'm not sure, but I think what certainly kicks ass is that New York got blown away CLEAN OFF. I don't think you can find anything there... Anything nice.

Oh, and BTW. Setting Fallout 3 in DC was high shit, shit that made me sick. In Fallouts, I always wondered what happened to the capitols etc., and here all my fun was spoiled. It should of being a secret. A damn big one. You should always set yourself to think that it got blown like damn, it's the capitol, after all. I think the main character should be born far away in the middle of nowhere, at small nowday US towns.

I also think that if the game would be set in China it would of been great. Don't make your racist comments on how bad it is to be a mongolian race guy. Oh no. If the Chinese are just as nice, it would be good. Plus, know that it was also shitted apart with the A-B's. Teh nothing left in 'dere. YakovFrolov 14:00, October 01, 2010 (UTC)

China is dead. Nothing there. Moving on... MoonshadowDark
I loved Fallout being based in DC. It was good to see how the most important city in the States was going after being nuked.--Mastererium 08:20, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
Fallout 4's will likely take place in the commonwealth area bethesda are focusing on the east coast while obsidian hopefully will continue working on the west coast.--kaminoman]

AntagonistsEdit

I want a proper ghoul antagonist: someone with interesting characterization like Set and the grandiose ambition of Willem Clark.--OvaltinePatrol 18:59, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

To be honest, I don't think Obsidian should make another Fallout game by their selves. I know they made the originals but they've had their crack at the series now let another team have a go. I mean if both Bethesda and Obsidian were making a game I'd say win but they most likely wont.--Mastererium 21:49, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Fallout 4 is going to be done, but not in the near future. I highly doubt that Bethesda would be able to release Fallout 4 two years after Elder Scrolls V (which is going to be highly anticipated and will lead to a number of DLC's due to it's popularity). We may be seeing a 2013 - 2014 release of Fallout 4, unless Obsidian Entertainment are to make the next Fallout in the series, then 2012 would be an acceptable claim for a release date. The setting of Fallout 4 will also depend on the maker's of the game. As Obsidian Entertainment is made up of the original Fallout creator's, they will probably continue with California, putting in more detail to the NCR and hopefully the return of the Enclave. However if Bethesda decide they want to take over Fallout 4 again then we may see more of Washington again, as Bethesda have mainly concentrated on that area. If we do return to the capital then I would like to see more of the Brotherhood, a lot of there smaller branches have many unexplained stories and questions left to be answered. Also who says Fallout has to go foward in time, perhaps we may see the earlier rise of the Enclave just after the Great War... ~ Captain California

Elder Scrolls V has a Nov. 2011 release date. Two years after that gives you a 2013-2014 release for FO4. Not sure what you're saying about release schedules here.--Gothemasticator 16:31, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

I think that fallout 4 should take place Central to sothern Florida. Think about it.... Florida would be perfect. Mutated gators, fish, varmit. Lots of wild life and their is a navel base in Tampa. You Start out as a boy 18-19, on a ranch in pincicola. Every body wears an older pip-boy. But a Tribe comes in and burns your ranch in the middle of the night. You escape through your window and run to a safe spot away from the farm. In the mornning you go back to the ranch to billdings smoking, ash, and char everywhere. use your own emagination to fill in the blanks. HEADSHOT 05:01, July 27, 2011 (UTC)SWAT666

I think Fallout 4 will take place at the Commonwealth in Massachusetts because during the events of Broken Steel, Doctor Li leaves the Captial Wasteland on a trip to the Commonwealth, so she can clear her head after the final activation of Project Purity. I want Bethesda to give Fallout 4 everything they have. I'm a huge fan of Fallout I played Fallout 3 and loved it so much I bought Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics and I loved them to. Eventually I played New Vegas and I was disappointed. In the first 200 hrs I was immersed and loving every second of playing New Vegas then it got boring. I played Fallout 3 for about 520 hrs in counting. Do you see that gap? I want to play Fallout 4 for twice the amount of time I'm putting into Fallout 3. I've put around 1800 hrs into the Fallout series I think I deserve Fallout 4 to be a gem, a game that I will gladly pay for and not regret later.
