Ok, I did some calculations based on the life expectancy of the vaults. Most of the ones still intact, fear they wont last much longer due to being forced to inbred because of the lack of people. Now here is where I get confused with this. between fall out 3 and fall out new vegas its been somewhere around 200 years or so since the bombs dropped. From what I recall reading, the average life expectancy of a regular person is between 70-80 years. And most vaults were pretty steeply packed. In fact Im pretty sure vault 101 started out with like 100 people or something. With a life exptectancy of around 70-80 years, that should be no more than 3 or 4 generations. Certianly not enough to even worry about imbreeding yet let alone dna meltdown due to too much of it. Anyone out there want to add in on this? Cause it seems to me, the people who made this series didn't do their math before mentioning the vault life issue.
