Hey all, just been wondering something recently. Considering we have articles for Lionheart and TORN, with the explanation being that they're made by Interplay and use the SPECIAL system, should we not also have article(s) for the Elder Scrolls series? It may not use the SPECIAL system, but it has the same publisher as the new games as well as uses the same game engines. I'm not suggesting we create a full blown portal and hundreds of pages for them, just something small talking about them. Thoughts? Paladin117>>iff bored; 03:38, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I'd pass on covering The Elder Scrolls on their own page to be honest. It's fine to mention past Bethesda titles on pages about Bethesda since is it would be natural for them to be there, but coverage of TES here would feel out of place. I don't really even agree with the Lionheart and TORN coverage of the SPECIAL system, but that's another issue. -- MHsig Watch in awe! 03:53, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
I have tried convincing the veterans here to cover content such as Wasteland, as I have always felt that a wiki needs to continually evolve to survive in the long-run. No luck - so I would not get your hopes up for TES coverage. At least, not in our current community. 69.247.6.120 03:58, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
But we do have a Wasteland page. Paladin117>>iff bored; 03:59, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
Ah - when you were asking if we should have articles, I was not under the impression you meant single overview pages. Overview pages, admittedly are an entire different breed of content. 69.247.6.120 04:06, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I oppose covering TES content on this wiki. There is already an entire database dedicated to the documentation of TES games so there is no real reason that we need to add additional documentation to this wiki.

If there must, at some level, be coverage of any TES titles I think the only way it should be done is by giving the wiki(s) a link at the bottom of the Bethesda page and nothing more.

By that logic, we should just delete the wiki, as the Vault and others already cover the Fallout titles. I'm not suggesting we cover the entire series, like we did with Lionheart for some reason, just either a single page talking about the series as a whole or a couple pages talking about the gamebryo and creation games. Paladin117>>iff bored; 04:24, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
If you really want to be dramatic about it then yes, you could delete the wiki. But the thing is there is already a TES wiki on Wikia so there is no reason a Fallout wiki on Wikia would need to cover an unrelated series purely because they have the same publisher. If you really have an issue with Lionheart then why don't you bring up yet another discussion about its place on the wiki?
I still 100% stand by my position that this wiki should not contain any TES specific information period as this is not the TES wiki.

The idea of the Torn and Lionheartvcoverage is that it is supposed to be limited to how the SPECIAL system is implemented. Is there a corresponding feature of Fallout that was exported to TES that would warrant coverage?

At the end of the day, we specialise as a Fallout wiki, that gives us our USP and our credibility on what we do. If we cover TES, then that coverage has to be directly relatable to fallout. Agent c (talk) 10:25, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Skyrim gained a perk system and I believe Todd Howard may have even mentioned Fallout while unveiling it, but it's been a while. Fallout 4 is also getting features that were initially in Skyrim due to the same game engine, like sprinting, radiant AI, etc. Paladin117>>iff bored; 13:18, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

"...uses the same game engines."

Back when Fallout 1 and 2 were released, some games made by Black Isle/Interplay had similar engines, but we don't cover info on them. ☢ Energy X ☣ 10:32, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I can't find any info on this, all I can find is that Fallout had a custom engine built just for it. What other games were there? Paladin117>>iff bored; 13:18, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Eh, I can't really see the point. Maybe a page stating it's existence as a Bethesda series, and then a link to the TES wiki but anything else would be too much. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 15:58, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

I believe the reason we cover Lionheart and TORN is simply because they use the SPECIAL system I daresay is otherwise exclusive to Fallout. TES does not utilize any such similar system but it does share, at least currently and ignoring New Vegas, the publisher, developer, and game engine of Fallout titles (publisher and game engine for New Vegas).

I personally don't think that warrants its own coverage in the form of similar pages to Lionheart and TORN as it is simply not Fallout enough. I mean, does any TES wiki feature an article about Fallout for the same reasons? --The Ever Ruler (talk) 17:43, July 2, 2015 (UTC)
