Forums: Index > Wiki discussion > Edits on a redirect page not appearing

Just tried to do something I've done many times on other wikis, which is edit a redirect page (to make it a dis-ambiguous page). I double-checked Help:Redirect which clearly states "You can then click 'edit' to alter the Darth Vader page as usual (making the redirect link point somewhere else, or replacing it with a new article) like any other page." But the edits aren't appearing. I thought maybe it was some kind of caching issue on the wiki server, but after 4+ hours the edits still do not appear. Specifically what I did was:

  1. Created new page Happiness (Fallout 4) since it didn't exist yet (though we had a similar page for Fallout Shelter, and Benevolent Leader was becoming a real Charlie Foxtrot with information that belonged on a separate page as others had pointed out).
  2. Renamed Happiness to Happiness (Fallout Shelter). I probably should have been more careful and unticked the option to create a redirect since I know I wanted a dis-ambiguous page instead.
  3. Edited the original Happiness page to remove the redirect code and replace it with the disambig template.

The code on the page looks perfect. It shows up correct on the previews. And I tested it in a sandbox and it came out perfect as well Though if I created a redirect in a sandbox and replaced it with a disambig template the exact same issue occurred, which makes me think it is either a server issue or something with the way this wiki is configured. Is editing redirects something limited to admins on this wiki or something? I'm lost. -- DeJuanNOnley (talk) 23:52, July 28, 2016 (UTC)

Now all of a sudden it is working. Perhaps there was some kind of server issue? I can't even duplicate the problem in the sandbox anymore and the problem was occurring 100% of the time there. I give up. I know I wasn't crazy. -- DeJuanNOnley (talk) 00:39, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
