Don't get me wrong, Raiders are easy to hate but The Forged bothered me in particular.
By the looks of it, they either found a functional Ironworks or reactivated a functional ironworks and what do they do? Bullshit, parasitic and destructive bullshit.
If they just got their heads out of their butts they could realize they would have a golden opportunity being a major economic player as a supplier of finished steel products and steel fabrication products. They could be THE supplier of steel products in the Commonwealth and beyond. What do they do? Just raid and treat the forge like it's a god and dump impurities into the molten metal (which is, sadly, all that becomes of any unfortunate wastelanders).
I know it's unlikely but I would really like a mod or official DLC where Saugus Ironworks becomes a settlement with a lot of fabrication features.
It's just a shame because unlike many of the other factories in the wasteland, this one actually works.

They're just screwed up in the head. Like those Children of Atom jerks, they stumbled upon some new and mysterious technology/phenomenon and decided that it must be divine. I understand your argument completely, but they're just another bunch of nut-cases who found something valuable before anyone else.
