is it worth giving your companions weapons ? do they run out of ammo really quickly ? wich weapons should i give each follower ?
Yes, it is worth giving your companions weapons. How fast they run out of ammo depends on what type of weapon it is and how much fighting you get into. For suggestions for what weapons the different followers should be equiped with you should probably check the different companions respective pages.

ok so ive got charon and cross and im exploring all the time always gettin bobble heads and fighting all the time im thinking cross with sum serious firepower to supress and charons shotgun to rush maybe ? what weps shud i use and also is there any followers that would be suited to the role of sniper
You're asking what weapons YOUR character should use, right? If thats the case, any you want. As for followers suited to sniping, if you're the one doing the sniping, RL-3 is probably the best as he'll carry any sniper rifles you would use for repairs without the danger of him using them. If you're talking about having a companion equiped with a sniper rifle, Jericho, Charon, and Star Paladin Cross have the highest Small Guns Skills. ok i got lyk 1500 5mm so ill give her minigun is there any particular reason why she wont wear tesla i gave it to her n she didnt change but she wears t 51b cz i wnt charon in t51b n her in tesla / hellfire is it cz hers is more repaired ?

since cross has a laser pistol as her default weapon can you give her a unique laser pistol or anything else with the same ammo type do you not need to give her more ?
Actually, the best by far is Haley of Haley's Hardware in Point Lookout. His repair skill matches that of the player by default, but thereafter, every time you visit him his skill jumps by five points (as long as you did not steal the jumpsuit he wears). If you wanted to raise it quickly you could go to him and then fast travel to a far off location within Point Lookout and come back again, rinsing and repeating.
