Hello everyone! I'm new to the fallout wiki, but decided to join the community because I wanted to converse with some other fans of the fallout world. I started writing a book based on the series and I wanted to ask some other fans on ideas for characters/monsters/events that i should place in my book.

How many pages do you expect it to be? Don't reuse Capital Wasteland, we have a game for that story, choose some new place with your own direction of the factions, history, vaults, creatures etc. And try not to re-use too much of what's been in earlier games. Like for example, Super Mutants can't be all over the world right? I mean, it requieres(?) FEV for that. Whic only so far exists at Mariposa and vault 87. So it'd be better, according to me, to not have them in it so it will stand out and portray new hostile characters instead. Gabriel Cortez 23:43, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Well i expect it to be 120 pages and the book does not contain super mutants but actually the two enemies that were featured in fallout 3 that i used in my books are feral ghouls and dogs since they were exposed to radiation and frenzied. the first book takes place in new york and new jersey and the twist i put in the story is that the soviets invaded the east coast from delaware to maine and that it brings a new line of vaults to light, seeing as how the fallout series uses vaults created by government contracting i looked at the companies of the fallout world and created a line of private contract vaults with different experiments in each.DaveCopper17 00:25, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I think the Fallout Fanon Wiki would be a better place for this than The Vault. Ausir(talk) 23:55, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey Ausir, i checked out the fanon wiki and, no offense, well they were kinda...hostile...towards my idea. i mean i have gotten really good constructive critisism on this site and i think here may be the best, but any other suggestions on sister wikis?DaveCopper17 00:43, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

And how. AngryNorwegianDude 23:55, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

OMG!!! Finally someone I can relate too! They are VERY hostile! NO, No, No! They try to change all my ideas! They are all communists! --FalloutFreek 19:28, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

HEY you dissin communism?!---Hellfire soldier

I too am writing Fallout-stories. Or well, mostly Fallout inspired stories, but I've started working on a story about my hometwon, Borlänge (a small town in Sweden), and how it would have been in the Fallout Universe. The thing you have to think about is, as Cortez said, that you should try to not reuse the same factions and monsters too much. Like, you can (or maybe even should?) put Bos and Enclave in it, but not as main villains and heroes. Instead, try to make up your own factions, or use factions that haven't been very noticed earlier. If you're gonna reuse characters that were in the games, think about the way you write them, so that you don't break their character. One thing that helps me also is to try and think "if this was a game, would I find it interesting and fun?". Good luck! :) --KillerIsMe 07:27, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

I think Fallout stories or at least Fallout inspired stories would be good. Like memntioned above, depending on your location say the USA, you would need to have the BoS, or at least a scouting party, and the Enclave, just for the fact they are Old America. The leaders could be based on people that you think are assholes and use them. As for other locations, like Sweden, you could have a faction based on something like the old Russia Czars or even, and i dare say it, based on a group like the Nazi, yes i said it and it is just a suggestion. Also, even though FO3 is a game, it is a linear game, so you could put your own twist on the game. I am not saying change the gameply or the quest, but write in the stuff you put on here into the story, like i did. I have my opening with the LW sitting on the stairs to the old capital building and he says something like, "You're born in the Vault, you die in the Vault. Lies, fucking lies. Everyone lied to me, hell even my own father lied." But once again, those are just suggestions.---Drop-Zone- 01:43, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

With all due respect, Sweden is not very connected to neither Russia or Nazis. Only thing I can even think about concerning Nazis is that we let them go through Sweden during WWII. I understand it's just a suggestion, but then you could just aswell use Nazis in the US. Which would probably make more sense too, atleast by the Nazis "goals", since there are basically no jews in Sweden. Also, by the 1950's (in which era the Fallout Universe is based) Sweden didn't have much ethnical diversity. So what I'm trying to say is, The Nazis wouldn't have that much to do in Sweden.

Sorry if I'm sounding defensive, I wasn't upset or anything by that post, even if it may seem like it. Nothing personal :P --KillerIsMe 06:33, September 9, 2009 (UTC)

True, but i never said use Nazi's, i suggested a group like Nazi's, kind of what the Enclace is to the USA. Have one ruler with his army of supporters that does the things like the Nazi's did. Religion had nothing to do with what i said above. I know the Nazi's killed millions of Jews, all i was saying, a group of people like them. As for how the world was in our time and in the FO universe, maybe things change since you real do not here much about what happened outside of the USA. Once the european commonwealth went to shit, one man came after the bombs fell and rose up out of the ashes and made all of europe or what was left of it, one nation. same thing could have happened from a russia standpoint. but instead of russia, they have comminism and took control of part of russia and part of europe, just like they really did after WW 2, but include sweden in that equation. like i said before, they were just suggestions on how some factions could be based off of, not the actual groups, since the nazi's would be destroyed after WW2.---Drop-Zone- 07:51, September 9, 2009 (UTC)
