Any suggestions? I gave Charon my kneecapper, Sydney's SMG and the Reservist rifle (on separate occasions) but he never used any of them, only resorting to his default shotgun. I just picked up Fawkes and want to give her stuff too but am unsure of what she will use. Any suggestions? Also...

(SPOILER QUESTION BELOW)

I know there's a point where you will become abducted and lose all your weapons. Do your companions also lose any special weapons you give them?

And is there a way to have more than two companions? I really want to take Dogmeat along as well (to hunt for items) but he always, ALWAYS ends up getting himself perished.

I got the same question...wanna to improve ability of charon. Maybe, taking away his default 20 shortgun shells (PS3 version)and giving him a better weapon. I will try later on, anyone has tried before?

Charon can use the Blackhawk, or a Sniper Rifle with amazing efficiency. With the blackhawk his DPS goes up to 100, with the sniper rifle he gains extra-long attack range, and it's nearly as high as he'll critical-strike 3/4 shots (except with the victory rifle, which doesn't critical much but does knock enemies down.) Note: For non-default weapons you have to provide ammo or the NPC won't equip it. As for Fawkes, I play on xbox360 and I've never been able to get Fawkes to equip a new weapon, not even Vengeance. Its fine really Fawkes already does massive damage with her default gatling laser. A note on Dogmeat, its not all bad if he gets himself killed. If you have a companion and dogmeat at the same time, dogmeat's death will open a character slot, allowing you to hire a second companion. Ash Nuke AshRandom (Talk) 14:19, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Charon is a lot of fun when you give him the Shishkebab. If he's anywhere close to an enemy he'll go charging in, fire blazing. The only problem with this is that if you're sneaking, he will quit sneaking in order to go charging into battle. He likes to use the missile launcher, but he's not very accurate with it (possibly because my Big Guns rating is only 36?) For this reason, I haven't even tried equipping him with a Fatman. I'm afraid he'll accidentally kill me! He really needs nothing more than his shotgun and a good set of armor to be very effective. LVTDUDE 08:40, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
