In the fight against Lanius. I hit him with a fat man on Slasher and Psycho to open up and while my goon squad took out the Praetorians who came to assist him he lobbed grenades at us. When he was out he ran down the ramp to come attack us and I caught him just before he got around the corner to the Brahmin pen and did the greatest VATS camera hit I've ever seen. The first shot from my Ranger Sequoia crippled his head. He came running before the second shot went off and when he was about 1 foot in front of my Courier she stuck the barrel straight into his chin and fired, exploding his head and sending his body flying upwards and backwards. I wish I had screencapped it. It's the kind of shot that belongs in a highlight reel. Kara MacNamara 02:49, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
Mine is the shot I took at three legionaries using a single bullet from a sniper rifle, they were about to attack the NCR caravan so I took the shot, 3 seconds later there are 3 dead legionaries and a single holopoint round less from my inventory. Took shot from 10 feet away (roughly) and got NCR rep for it, later I nuked the legion bade at dry wells, My character is so bad ass Ryanurch 20:15, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
Mine is the shot I just took with the Ratslayer from the mountains in front of primm. Hit a bloatfly that was just a tiny bit in sight while it was in full motion. Also hit a running gecko from the same spot and about the same distance. Both kill shots in the night.

Mine is when I used the C-Finder to kill Kimball in the tower, you should try it :D (lordnihilus)
mine i was quite frankly bored and fired one shot with the mysterious magnum randomly without really aiming towards camp mccarren from quite a far distance resulting in a perfect head shot on one of the guards in the towers, practically wet myself when it happened --Mgriller 04:08, March 18, 2011 (UTC)
a young cuzador in full motion at a very long distance with the all-american was my best, kill shot too! once i threw a plasma grenade at a wall to bounce around the corner into a room with 3 ghouls and killed them all, that was fun. - JoshGDC
I shot the assassin at Hoover Dam with This Machine from the road almost in front of the doors to the visitor center without using vats. I was trying to hurry to the tower to stop him, and just started shooting while running. I thought it was impressive. I also shot a grenade in a guys hand with a 1% chance to hit, using vats this time, but he was a good distance away, and didn't expect to hit him, but fortunately he got blown to shreds.188.8.131.52 05:06, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

The best shot I've ever made which I dare others to beat just so happens at the end of my first playthrough while being allies with both the boomers and the legion primarily. I was on the last mission where I was tasked to go take down NCR's snipers with the option of unlocking the door for the legion's forces to back me up. Anyway, there were about 7- 10 legionaries in between me and an NCR Trooper which I took a shot at in VATS right after taking a dose of Steady. Well the shot was not only perfect, but a flawless critical that killed the NCR Trooper by taking off his head. The distance and weapon of choice was about 225 meters and the anti-material rifle. 220.127.116.11 21:50, April 1, 2011 (UTC) 18.104.22.168 21:50, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
It's not quite a exceptional shot but it looked pretty funny. In my first playthrough when I discovered the Gun Runners Site the first time I bought an AM Rifle to try it out. Later in the game I was followed by some human enemy (Legion Assassins I think) and my character was pretty fucked up- without any meds and all that. So I turned back, equipped the AMR and took a shot from the hip while running backwards. Accidentally I scored a headshot, blowing the enemy about 10 m in the air spinning around very fast and crash landing into a campfire. Well, sounds kinda boring but it looked very funny ;) xNOKIx 17:44, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
Headshot sneak critical with a 9mm pistol on Chavez from a reasonably long distance. Levi Lauson 18:25, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
Best shot I had was a random shot I did with the anti merteal rifle and got a random sneak attack head shot on some leagonair xD No amazing well aimed shot I or anyone I have seen is better than that (DrMetters 00:24, April 13, 2011 (UTC))
The mercenary camp in the far north where you get the unique gauss rifle: I sneak attacked with a scoped laser rifle with the meltdown perk and the group all went up simultaneously and flew away from each other in a perfect circle formation. I never did find the gauss rifle after that. Zac hemker 22:02, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Mine was at sunrise at the Sniper's Nest on a ridge overlooking Cottonwood Cove, I shot Aurelius of Phoenix in the head and he fell off the roof. Then I calmly took out Cursor Lucullus (The guy who you talk to to go to Fortification Hill) from another vantage point, then walked away.
I can't remember one in particular but I've always enjoyed having the Anit-Materiel Rifle with Bloody Mess and having incendiary ammo. When you sneak attack humanoid enemies (Yao Guai and Deatclaws too) and shoot their torso somethimes their body turns into a fiery, yet bloody spectacle. It kind of looks like fireworks. --TwentySyxx 03:58, June 4, 2011 (UTC)
Went into deadwind with a plasma pistol, survied all of the legendary deathclaws buddies and went to face him down, took one shot with MC ammo right at its head, hit the better criticals jackpot, he exploded into a hundred thousand pieces and turned into goo. I just looked at that pile for like five mins. Death by plasma pistol. Worst death a legendary beast could have. In one shot. Beat that i *dare* you (not to brag). 22.214.171.124 21:29, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
In Fallout 3, I came out of a metro tunnel into the Mall area and was immediately set upon by a group of about 4 super mutants with all sorts of heavy weapons. I only had my armored vault suit and blackhawk and I was getting my but kicked so I ran for cover inside one of those bus stop buildings with the benches inside and waited for my AP to replenish. The muties surrounded me and were about to come around to the entrance and blow me into hamburger when I popped out shouting America! at the top of my lungs and entered vats. I cued up as many headshots on each one of them as I had AP for with an average percent chance to hit of about 45% and let fly. I dropped every one of them with critical hits. I just stood there looking around me breathing heavily for a moment and then fast traveled the hell out of there. Zac hemker 17:15, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Right after playing Honest Hearts I was traveling back to Lucky 38 to store some of the unique items I recieved and I pulled out a tomohawk to mess around with, long story short I threw it over the strip north gate and hit and killed mr. holdout. It was so sexy but i kind of liked the weapons he sold...
Near the beginning of the game, defending goodsprings from powder gangers. I run out of the gas station after they attack and start firing towards the ganger walking towards town ended up critical headshotting one of the gangers.
Before Fallout 3, there was Oblivion. In that game, I made a blind shot with an arrow, through two entranceways in a cave complex, to one-shot kill a named vampire (Seridur). In Fallout: New Vegas, there was this one time where I was on a hill looking down on some raiders below (don't remember now if it was a Viper or a Jackal). I had a varmint rifle with a night scope, and it was dark out. I took aim at a raider so far away that he was little more than a spec in the scope, aimed, and fired; killed him in one shot. --Kris 02:15, July 7, 2011 (UTC)
ok i was in black mountain and i had 4 nitekin (spelled wrong) chasing me and turned around with the Ranger Sequoia popped all 4 of em in the head all of there heads exploded it was so awesome So I decided I would be awesome and go to Lanius with just a BB gun a 9mm and Ed-E on melee and the C-finder so I shoot the finder unload all my BBs and the mere 50 rounds of 9mm with Lanius almost dead and me out of ammo I punch Ed-E he explodes Lanius dead Mr.House comes in PWNs some noobs end of story Fryingpan57 04:15, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
Killed a powder ganger sentry in one of the towers at the correctional facility with a grenade, not the explosion of the grenade, the grenade itself landed what i am assuming as is a direct hit.
First was when I killed three ghouls with a single VATS shot each using the assualt rifle and it didn't take any time between shots and was over in less than 3 seconds.
The second was when I shot a crimson dragoon in the head in VATS with a single sniper rifle shot while he was charging me and he fell flat on his back completely stretched out, head completely intact and most dramatic VATS build up where character raises the gun and fires.
Being up on that rock between Nelson and Camp Forlorn Hope that one BOS scout sits on, jumping off with a fully modded hunting rifle while facing the side entrance to Nelson, and no-scoping and suddenly getting a cinematic kill-cam of a legion decanus having his head blown off Crossfire XVI 23:10, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
Nothing epic, but early on I pulled off a "Halo jump" and dropped like six or seven coyotes with the Merc Grenade Launcher. Crippled both my legs, though.
Later I managed to shoot the gun out of one of Nephi's fiends hand with the Ratslayer. In that second when he was dazed, my NCR trooper killed him with a headshot. He was the last guy too. When I turned to look at her, she was standing there staring at me blankly with her rifle away. --Pyoobez 05:19, July 14, 2011 (UTC)
In honest hearts I jumped off a rock while fighting some white legs and got a one shot collateral double kill with dinner bell. Crossfire XVI 18:05, July 14, 2011 (UTC)
I was quite amused the day I got the anti-materiel rifle. I took it out into the wilderness and decided to test-fire it just to hear the sound effect... and managed to take out a deathclaw that was beyond the draw distance of the game. Pulled the trigger, gained xp, and had to take a 5 minute walk to find out what I hit. GodlessMunkey 02:19, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
I remember that in Fallout 3 that wild dogs were glitched, you couldn't miss in VATS no matter the chance you had. Killed a pack of em from 300 feet with 1% chance on all of them. Fun Crossfire XVI 03:12, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
Using the Fat Man (obviously), I once managed to hit my own Mini Nuke with another Mini Nuke, whilst it was still in mid-air. Unfortunately the explosion was the same size as a regular sized mushroom cloud. Took me about half an hour to do, but it was worth it to see a mushroom cloud in the sky! --Tag! 06:18, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
used an unmodiffed varment rifle to snipe all the cons in the ncrcf from the ridge to the south south west my first shot was at one of the guards in the tower d.o.a.--Gogoloco 09:27, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
I was standing on the top leftside edge of the last fallen building (the one you have to run under) in the divide, i made a headshot kill with Christine's rifle on the last markedman who stands closest to the door of Ulysses Temple, 2 days ago. my best and last long shot so far (i just didnt think the xb could handle that sort of range till now). its the kind of distance where if you even -feel- the right stick too much the crosshairs will be off target. having a new xb360 silver gamepad still in 100% condition, and a LG37inch LCDTV probably helped! - not showing off; just filling in the details, way better than using a 19inch LCD monitor, you don't have to strain yer eyes at all or hunch forward! CDEagle147A "jesus cripes theres a thousand pigs!!" 16:46, September 28, 2011 (UTC).
i killed 4 legion recruits by headshoting 1 of them with .50 explosive round, epic! LUCIAN-44 01:20, October 2, 2011 (UTC) ________________________________________________________
I think one of my most memoriable shots was going into Deadwind Cavern for the first time and killing the Mother Deathclaw with 1 'head' shot (more like 'back of the neck shot' the way their body zones are mapped is strange) with a regular ol' Sniper Rifle. I just wasn't expecting her to go down in one shot, I figured I was going to get mauled... --Kid Ego 09:47, October 2, 2011 (UTC)
Mine was when I just found the supply crate for camp forlorn and then the legion raiding party ambushed me I was crouching at the time and just saw the top of a recruits head as he came up the hill and I shot him in the head with my hunting Rifle while in the scope then another came from the left and I blew his head off in Vats then one behind me on the cliff shot at me I then got out of his line of sight then he jumped of the cliff to jump down to where I was and I shot him in the head in VATS in midair and he did a backflip and landed on his face dead. --Assassin540 00:25, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
I don't know about best shot, but my most memorable kill was when i went into Caesar's tent with mercy and held the trigger down the moment the interior loaded. By the time I had to reload there was nothing left of Caesar or his guards but body parts. I snipe the large majority of my enemies the moment they are visible, so the good shots start to blend together for me. Best one in recent memory was at ranger station charlie with the new GRA Anti-Material Rifle. I had 40 or 50 guns at the time along with only 6 str, so the gun was swaying all over the place, yet the moment I came around the bend I managed to take out all 3 Legion members with a single explosive round. ~Shadowcat
Mine was sneak attack criticaling (headshots) all the powder gangers in the NCRCF from the south ridge with the hunting rifle amazing shot(s) XD
My best shot was on Lanius with a gauss rifle. it made him run so i finished it off with a telsa cannon
Hmm. I play on the xbox, so I can't boast too much, but I freaking love sniping at Cottonwood cove. Mourning rifle? Nah. lost it's fun a while ago. Gobi Campaign? nah, hate the DKS-series rifles. Hunting rifle? Fun, but not quiet. No, no. The RATSLAYER. even before my match rounds came out, this was my primary sniping rifle. damn. Night vision, exceptionally accurate, and it even looks sweet. I sat just under the sniper's nest, and kept shooting all the Legion there, aiming for headshots, mostly getting body shots. kept reloading my hard save, repeating with all sorts of rifles. randomly, I had picked up a hunting revolver, and repaired it, intending to sell the thing, as I hate scoped pistols. On a lark, I set my scope's sight on The Commander, Legate What's his face of Phenoix. I swapped to the Hunting revolver, loaded an SWC, and took the shot. Tore his head off from a nice distance. haven't been able to re-create it since. I've killed them with long-range missles, every conventional rifle, and once or twice with red glare. My next goal? to hit the sonuva bitch with a .45 Super. from my Silenced 1911. Maybe I'll remember to capture it if I can do it. if not, I'll try my hand at the ol Hunting revolver, this time with a match barrel on it. then prehaps pacencinca, seeing as it's sights are screwy. Luck to all my Fellow Long-Distance shooters!
