(Raul Tejada: old in spirit, or just plain old all around?)

I'm wondering what to make of it. Are his complaints all just psychological, a result of being "weary of the world" and disillusioned with violence and his guilt over not being able to protect anyone he cared about? Or is it that ghouls do age (slowly), Raul really is getting old physically, and that if he goes vaquero with the courier, it's the last gasp of his youth? (Like, he's the equivalent of a human 50 year old or something, and he can still pull off the gunslinger thing (just barely), but when he's the equivalent of a human 70 year old or something, he really won't be able to do it anymore.) Raul is getting old and he is having physical problems on top of his doubts, but it's not all in his head. If you remember Dean Domino at the Sierra Madre, when you sneak he says "This crouching is hell on my knees". Both Dean and Raul are over 200 years old without even adding their age before the Great War. It's getting to the point where all the ghouls created as a result of the Great War are starting to feel the effects of age, since they aren't immune to aging, just aging slower than humans. Eventually, in a few decades, maybe longer, the ghouls will start dying off and only the ghouls created AFTER the Great War will be left. I'm wondering about Raul Tejada. He complains about how his vision isn't as sharp as it used to be, his knees are arthritic, etc. Yet, if you just have him talk to the right folks, and then convince him that he's not too old to be a gun-slinging vaquero, he'll put on his costume and go ahead guns blazing.
