From time to time I see locations with a blurb in the notes section or w/e describing their possibility as an "Alternative Safehouse" (most recently National Guard Bunker in National Guard Depot). Is this concept worthy of it's own wikia topic/category etc.? I think it is. V.A.T.S. addict 04:17, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

A lengthy article already exists for what you're proposing. See Fallout 3 player housing. Mr. Sully 04:38, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
ty. I knew there was one, but I couldn't find it with my feeble search capabilities. Nat Guard needs to be added.V.A.T.S. addict 04:40, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Don't knock your search capabilities too much. There just isn't a lot that links to that article so it's pretty damn obscure. :-P Mr. Sully 04:43, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
I'll be working on linking up the above page from various "safehouse" topics. Plus updating that topic with additional locations. V.A.T.S. addict 06:01, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that's a good idea personally (the first that is, not the latter), at least not the way it was done at National Guard Depot. The safehouse article is there to avoid cluttering the other location articles with the safehouse-related stuff, not encourage it. A small note and link (like in Abandoned tent) is fine. -- Porter21 (talk) 07:45, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
I really mostly edited what was already there on the Nat Guard Topic. I did add it to the FO3 Player Housing page last night though. V.A.T.S. addict 14:37, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

on my first time through the game i didnt even realize that you could get a house, so i ended up storing all my gear in the ammo crates at the Abandoned car fort. BraddaJ 07:39, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm thinking of living at GNR. There are a few safe ammo boxes and a usable bed in a room no one ever uses. It is in a section left of the entrance on the ground floor. There aren't many enemies, and it's generally centrally located. Can someone approve of this and/or has anyone learned the hard way and would advise me to steer clear? I'll try dropping some random items around in storage etc. in that location and see if they disappear (I won't get to FO3 again 'til late this week though). I need to do that in these other locations that I "like" for housing (Mechanist's Forge and National Guard Depot). Arlington House also seems nice.
