General healing skill. Used to heal small cuts, abrasions and other minor ills. In game terms, the use of first aid can heal more hit points over time than just rest.

— In-game description

First Aid is a Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics skill. In Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, First Aid was merged with Doctor into the Medicine skill.

## Fallout and Fallout 2Edit

$\text{Initial level}\%=$ $30+\frac{(\text{Perception}+\text{Intelligence})}{2}$

Note: The formula inside the character's screen on Fallout is wrong, showing 30 + (PE + IN).

Example: A starting Perception of 5 and Intelligence of 5

$30+(5+5)/2=35%$

After successfully using first aid three times, you will not be able to use the skill again until about a day has passed, and receive messages to that effect if you try.

## Fallout TacticsEdit

$\text{Initial level}\%=$ $30+(2\times\text{Perception})+(2\times\text{Intelligence})$

Example: A starting Perception of 5 and Intelligence of 5

$30+2\times5+2\times5=50\%$

In Fallout Tactics multiplayer games first aid allows you the ability to get your almost-dead warriors back to full health in one or two turns. This implies that you take one doctor in your squad with more than mediocre healing skills. Moreover, the healing via first-aid-kits is more cost effective than relying on stimpaks. The downside is that you mustn't move your healer and the healee, otherwise the process will be terminated (which means that you've wasted Action Points, which you don't want). Especially useful in conjunction with high hitpoint characters like brutish-hulkish Deathclaws.

Repeatedly using first aid on a character will make the patient Bandaged, preventing further healing with first aid until the patient is treated with the Doctor skill.
