The news has been brought to you by the Vikki and Vance Casino. Vikki and Vance. Be our partners in crime.Mr. New Vegas

The Vikki and Vance Casino, officially called the Vikki and Vance Casino and Museum,[1] is an unmarked location within Primm in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

So named for Vikki and Vance, a pair of semi-notorious bandits from long before the Great War, the casino was built in Primm to capitalize on their small-area fame as part of its "Las Vegas on a budget" appeal, and included a central museum display along with the help of the modified Protectron, Primm Slim as a tour guide.

Following the nuclear apocalypse, the casino was reopened for a time, run by Johnson and Ruby Nash to provide an additional revenue source for Primm along with the Mojave Express outpost they manage from their home. Like everything else in Primm, the Casino's good fortune turned for the worst following the breakout at the NCR Correctional Facility, as escaped convicts stormed the town, killing the sheriff and taking the sole deputy hostage in the nearby Bison Steve Hotel, forcing the remaining residents to barricade themselves in the Vikki and Vance Casino until help, either from the New California Republic or a miracle worker could come.

Layout[]

Just inside the casino's front doors are rows of slot machines. Beyond the entryway is the casino floor, which is dominated by the death car, the vehcile Vikki & Vance were driving when they were shot and killed. On the left is the cashier, where chips are bought in exchange for currency (once the casino reopens first).

Gambling[]

Games

Rewards and ban
As the player character earns chips, the casino offers increasing gifts:

Once the player character has earned 2,500+ chips, the casino will ban them permanently from further gambling.

Related quests[]

Notes[]

  • The casino's gambling and cashier services will not become available until after completing My Kind of Town, then waiting at least one or two days to return to the casino, whereupon A Team of Moronic Mercenaries will trigger and the confrontation with the NCR deserters must be resolved. Following that, after another three in-game days, the casino will reopen and allow for gambling.
  • Once My Kind of Town is completed by choosing a new sheriff, the townsfolk will leave the casino.
  • If the confrontation with the deserters is resolved peacefully, most items and containers previously marked as owned will temporarily become unowned. This will allow the player character to loot them without incurring a Karma penalty. There are a few exceptions, such as the cash registers and the locked safes. These will still be marked as owned and opening them will incur Karma loss. If Layla and the deserters are killed instead of securing a peaceful resolution, all items and containers will remain owned until the casino reopens.
    • If the player wishes to both kill the deserters and unmark the owned casino items, simply complete the peaceful dialogue option and then kill the deserters before they leave the casino.
  • In the back room of the casino, there is a framed article about a resident being splattered on the Bison Steve Hotel El Diablo rollercoaster.
  • Being banned from gambling at the Vikki and Vance does not affect the progress of completing the The Courier Who Broke the Bank achievement/trophy.
  • Although Primm Slim tells the Courier that Vikki and Vance perished while caught in the crossfire between police and a gang of bank robbers in Plano Texas, the death car on display in the museum appears to have taken gunfire to only the driver's side of the vehicle.

Appearances[]

The Vikki and Vance Casino appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[]

The in-game Vikki and Vance Casino is based on the real-world locations of Primm Valley Resort & Casino and Whiskey Pete's in Primm, Nevada.
