The Searchlight west church is an unmarked location within Camp Searchlight in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Layout[]

Situated on the western edge of the camp, the church is one of two located in Camp Searchlight, this one occupying the western portion of the camp's map. In front of it, there is a Mark III turret next to some sandbags. The church itself consists of a single room that has lost most of its roof. When entering the church through the main gate, the player character can find a turret defense terminal on the left, giving them access to the turret that stands in front of the church.

In the back of the church, there is a cellar door that leads to the Searchlight NCR storage. Logan and his crew of three prospectors are taking refuge in the basement, and can trigger Wheel of Fortune.[1]

Notes[]

The billboard in front of the church displays the Christian Bible verse Revelation 9:6, which reads, "And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them." [2] It used to read "BINGO EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT 6:30 9:30," which would account for why the "L" in "REVELATION" is actually an upside down "T."

Appearances[]

The Searchlight west church appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

The ruined chapel offers reasonable defensive areas (the walls and doorways) to attack from. At the back is a Cellar Door to Searchlight NCR Storage. Enter the Cellar Door and root around in this root cellar, although three Prospectors (including Logan) have got there first. Logan’s a real piece of work, but if you can stand him, you can team up and begin Side Quest: Wheel of Fortune. Or you can kill him for the keys to the two largest buildings in town. Check the NCR Storage Database Terminal [Average] (as part of the Side Quest) or open the Floor Safe [Average] using Bobby Pins."
