Behind the scenes[]
Though featured as an junk item in Fallout 4, cigars actually appeared first in Fallout 3, where Jericho is occasionally seen smoking cigarettes, whenever any object tobacco-related should be deposited in his inventory, as well as its first add-on, Operation: Anchorage, where the general, Constantine Chase, smokes one. They also appeared in Fallout: New Vegas in ashtrays half smoked, but it wasn't possible to pick up the cigar or ashtray making them purely decorative.
Bugs[]
The lit cigar is incorrectly depicted with the burnt end being closest to the cigar band, which normally denotes the side that should be put in the smoker's mouth.[verified]
