The default radio signal is a radio station in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4. It can be picked up after extending the satellites at relay tower 0MC-810.
Characteristics[]
The message is a pre-War introductory message from RobCo Industries, left on loop. The origin of the signal is a ham radio in the basement of a bombed-out house to the northeast of the relay tower. The operator's holotape referenced in the broadcast is not found in the basement.

“Congratulations on your purchase of a new RobCo Hamtek radio operator's hobbyist kit! Through the magic of radio, you're well on your way to making new friends and being the envy of your neighbors. When ready, please refer to your operator's holotape for further instructions!”

The RobCo announcer in this radio signal was voiced by audio director Mark Lampert.
Bugs[]
Occasionally, turning off the ham radio may not disable the signal.[verified]
To ensure that you can disable the signal, make sure you tune your Pip-Boy radio to another channel, AND turn the Pip-Boy radio OFF, before you enter the basement. This seems to be true with most if not all "distress" type radio signals. When you turn off the ham radio, you should get the message "Default Radio Signal lost".
