Characteristics[]

A large number of vehicles are found scattered around the wastelands. If struck, vehicles may catch fire, starting a process by which they will then detonate shortly thereafter. Vehicles that explode leave an irradiated area for a brief period of time. There are no drivable vehicles but there are some instances where vehicles are used as a means to transport the Lone Wanderer to a new location.

In the Broken Steel add-on, the player character can visit the interior of the Brotherhood of Steel's unique vertibird. It is also possible to ride an underground subway train in the presidential metro during the main questline. Traveling to Point Lookout is done on a pre-War ferry, the "Duchess Gambit." The player character is also required to use a railroad hand cart to enter and exit The Pitt.

Notes[]

  • It is possible to scale any bus in the game by the rear, where the signs read "No Step." There is an invisible set of steps located here, climbed by running against the bus while looking up along the narrow fin or by jumping along the side. The player character can walk up buses from the back regardless of if they are upright or flipped onto their side.
  • A suicide note found next to a motorcycle mentions the utilization of a toroidal coil.
  • In Mothership Zeta, while traveling in the garbage chute of the maintenance level, the player character can briefly glimpse a perfectly intact Corvega in one of the several rooms passed by on the alien mothership.
  • In Operation Anchorage, Chinese aircraft can be seen flying overhead. These are downsized movable statics (DLCAnchFXBomberLoop01), also seen depicted in the simulation's posters.
