Welcome back to the Big Horn. What can I get you?Ike

The Big Horn Saloon is an unmarked location within Boulder City in the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas.

Background[]

After surviving both the Great War and the destruction of most of Boulder City during the First Battle of Hoover Dam, the Big Horn Saloon, owned by its bartender Ike has suffered its worst loss with the shutdown of Interstate 15 due to a deathclaw infestation at Quarry Junction causing a halt of all limestone excavation, thus no product coming into Boulder City and putting all the workers at the concrete mixing plant out of work until the situation is fixed.[1]

Layout[]

Situated on the west side of the town near the Boulder City ruins, the saloon is comprised of the main bar area and a back room. There are four tables on the left and five to the right of the entrance. Directly ahead is the bar and counter. Behind the bar is the barkeep, Ike. To the right of the bar is a backroom secured with an Easy lock, filled with Sunset Sarsaparilla crates.

Notable loot[]

Notes[]

There are no other NPCs inside the saloon besides Ike until after completing the unmarked quest Claws Out by killing every deathclaw, including the alpha male and the mother deathclaw in Quarry Junction near Sloan. Returning to the Big Horn Saloon will cause Boulder City workers to appear in the saloon and Ike happy to see them.[2]

Appearances[]

The Big Horn Saloon appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

Behind the scenes[]

The in-game Big Horn Saloon is located in the same geographical area as the real-life, former Big Horn Restaurant in Boulder City, Nevada.

Bugs[]

PCPC The door to Ike's room at the back of the saloon will return to being locked anytime the player character leaves and returns to the saloon, even if the door is still physically open. The player character will only be rewarded XP for picking the lock once. [verified]

  • As of patch 1.4.0.525, the door is never locked, but it shows as trespassing to go through it, yet Ike will not respond if you are trespassing.

  1. The Courier: "Where does the concrete come from?"
Ike: "Most of the limestone comes from Quarry Junction out west, but I hear some Deathclaws overran the quarry. With no work to be had, all the workers around here have wandered off. I'm the only one left in town."
(Ike's dialogue) Note: This is spoken should the quest Claws Out have yet to be completed by killing the alpha deathclaws at Quarry Junction
  2. The Courier: "Where does the concrete come from?"
Ike: "Most of the limestone comes from Quarry Junction out west. The supply had stopped for awhile because of a Deathclaw problem. I heard some badass wastelander killed the Deathclaws, and deliveries of limestone have been coming in again. I don't think they've gotten the trains up and running yet, but most of the concrete plant workers have come back to town now. Good for business."
