The following is based on Van Buren design documents and is not canon. |
“You grew up in the heart of the savage wasteland. You are swift and powerful, but you tend to shun the company of others. Your Throwing Range is Strength * 4 (instead of Strength * 3) and you move 20% faster on the World Map. Unfortunately, you can take one fewer companion NPC than normal.”— In-game description
Feral Kid is a trait from Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 project by Black Isle.
Effects
This trait will increase the PC's Throwing Range to Strength * 4 instead of the standard Strength *3. It will also allow the PC to move 20% faster on the World Map, but the amount of companions you may have following you is decreased by 1.
Behind the scenes
This trait is a reference to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, where Max meets a child, (who in the credits, is titled "The Feral Kid".) The addition to the throwing skill is also a nod, because he uses a lethal metal boomerang.
