The Naviation Beautification Project is a project which aims to renovate the game portals in the style of The Canceled Games portal
Scope[]
The scope is to renovate the portals for all of the core game releases. The community portal and front page are not intially included, but ideas on their improvement are most welcome and can be explored.
Guidelines[]
A complete portal includes:
- A Custom header/Welcome message
- A Slider
- Slider for F3 and NV portals to feature the main game in slot 1, with the DLC alternating in the other 3 slots using the rotating content template
- Slider for the Classic trilogy to be based on features articles **No slider for *A general table of contents
- The game and the DLCs for F3/NV
- The game and Cut content/Bibles where relevant for Fallout 2.
- Featured Article
- Updated to Rotating content template where currently on a monthly (or less) basis
- Updated to use transclusion to allow for automatic updates of content
- At the moment, the articles being featured are not to be changed - I understand Skire is interested in persuing this as a seperate project.
- Index
- Move to a Tabbed style for F3/NV
- Total overview in slot 1;
- base game in 2;
- DLCs to follow
- Look into a possible tabbed style for Fallout 1/2/Tactics where there is enough information on cut content.
- Forum update - Optional
- Update Category overview/directory pages to new style
- Review of Navboxes
- Wikia Game Guide app review
Health Warning[]
Portals are messy, especially some of the older ones where it comes to featured articles. There are templates, within templates, within templates.
If you are a new editor, fresh to the wiki and wikis in general, this is not the project for you.
If you're happy with the basics of editing, this is an opportunity to learn a little about templates, transclusions and sliders, and how they interact with one another.
Training can be provided, and a portal manual is in development.

I'm thinking about swapping LR in 2 and 3 around. Agent c (talk) 21:23, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
- Is it not possible to have 5 images in sliders? I was not aware of this. Anyways I don't think it really matters what the images and in which slider they go as long as the feeling of the DLC or base game is captured. P.S. Nice sub-text on the sliders Chad ;) --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 21:29, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
- Its just in 2, it has Ulysees in full character view next to the think tank, in human view... One of em needs to swap with a landscapy-one for balance. Also, yes 4 is the limit, and I couldnt think of any serious text. Like Canx games the sliders would rotate around. Agent c (talk) 21:53, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
- I was just looking at the images and thinking that if you put the OWB image from the first slider, put it in as the OWB one in second slider, then take the OWB from the second slider, and place it as the OWB one in the third. Then place the third OWB image in as the OWB image in the first slider then I feel all the sliders then hold one theme, such as characters, landscapes etc cetra. Just my feelings on the arrangements though and I hope that made any sense. :P --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 22:44, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
