Fallout 3 and New Vegas quotations project
This article is within the scope of the Fallout 3 and New Vegas quotations project. This project is dedicated to adding quotations to every Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas page currently lacking one.. For participation, please check the project page.

The Fallout 3 and New Vegas quotations project is a project which aims to add page-top quotations to all Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas characters/locations/quests/factions articles. Nothing like a good quote in the beginning of the article to stylise it and make the wiki more conceptual and attractive.

ScopeEdit

All Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas character/location/quest/faction articles.

GuidelinesEdit

  • If there is an interesting and smart quote that is already in the Notable Quotes section, feel free to move it to the top, making it more appreciable for the wiki readers/users.
  • Do not forget to cite the source/character that used that line.
  • If the character/faction appears in more than one title of the Fallout series, make sure to specify the game it was taken from. For example: Marcus is a character featured in both Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas. If any article receives a quote from him, specify the game which it is from.

ParticipantsEdit

To participate, simply add your name below using {{userlink|your user name}}. Place every participant on a new line and keep them in alphabetical order except for the project leader.

Completed the whole Fallout 3 factions quotations. MatkoBoS (talk)

I have almost done with Base Game Fallout 3 factions quotations but I'm not sure what to put in Rivet City and Vault 101 security, Super Mutants and Slavers.MatkoBoS (talk) 10:24, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Wow, I totally forgot about this project...
Anyway, if you can't find a quote by the faction, find a quote about the faction. For example - does anyone in the game describe the Super Mutants? If so, use that as the quote and remember to note down who said it: {{Quotation|blah blah blah|'''Write who said it'''}} Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 08:50, July 14, 2012 (UTC)
Yes I know about that but wich one to use? For example, Super Mutants appear in all Fallout series and many have commented in game about them. I played only FO 3 and NV and I'm afraid I'll put a wrong quote.

And for the Rivet City and Vault 101 security, no one really talk about them. MatkoBoS (talk)

They have separate articles for each game about them. For example, FO3 has Vault 87 super mutant, and they are a certain "type" of super mutant that only appear in that game. And Mariposa super mutant for FNV, just make sure an FNV character comments about them. If there is nothing special, just put {{No}} --Skire (talk) 11:15, July 14, 2012 (UTC)
I understand, I saw you made a lot of edits on this project, maybe you can gather the old team and finish this project (It's kind of stupid when this project is in silence for 2 months, and you all made a good start) MatkoBoS (talk) 11:41, July 14, 2012
Well User:Theodorico is working on it now, I'll do some peer reviews for him. User:Higgey the Scotsman is also adding in some quotes now and then. It's not surprising that a project like this would go dead after awhile, it's not the first time it has happened anyway. --Skire (talk) 11:55, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

( BTW, you all should be using {{Quotation}}, not {{Quote}}. That's just being lazy. {{Quotation}} is the actual template, is where the documentation is, and should be used by all editors. --Skire (talk) 12:17, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

I've done Mothership Zeta but have left blanks of either dead characters, ones that don't speak and the two soldiers who can be revived. Otherwise the main characters have been done. Kiwi 3992205 20:06, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

Try looking for dialogue about them. Perhaps one of the characters mentions them or something... that's the best bet. Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 01:29, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
If I get the chance today, I'll look in the GECK and see if I can strip some background comments from the characters. I've got a ton of GECK work to do, but I'll try to look into it for you. The Gunny 380px-USMC-E7 svg 15:19, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

I might be able to hop on FO3 later and talk to some people - easiest way to get quotes after all. SigmaDelta54 (Talk) 15:24, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

I'm actually replaying Fallout 3 in my spare time to get some quotes... but I'm too busy having fun to actually pay attention. A good way to get easy quotes is to watch "Let's Play" videos on Youtube. Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 05:17, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

The character "Officer Armstrong" will be given a noIcon cross because he is an exact copy of Gomez. User Broccoli Broccoli. 03:16, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

If the character never speaks, remove them. If the character only says generic NPC lines, just yesIcon check it as completed. -- Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 03:24, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Ive Done all the boomers on the list, still working on some others though ^^'--Emiko~<3 19:40, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

I have now completely completed and quoted the Fallout 3 Base Game Characters, Operation: Anchorage Characters, Mothership Zeta Characters, and Point Lookout Characters. Later on I'll get onto the The Pitt Characters and the Broken Steel Characters. User Broccoli Broccoli. 23:36, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

Well done, both of you. Keep up the good work! -- Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 16:43, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

Broken Steel completed. User Broccoli Broccoli. 18:39, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

I don't understand what the noIcon cross's next to a quote is. Does that mean that there needs to be a better quote added, or what? Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 23:59, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

They mean that they have no unique quotes and have nothing said about them. User Broccoli Broccoli. 08:20, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

All Fallout 3 Characters and all Fallout 3 DLC Characters and now completely quoted. User Broccoli Broccoli. 03:05, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

My first activity here has begun. I'm kinda free from the M.A. work for some days, so I can dedicate myself to editing again. I've just done characters in the Strip and the Gomorrah, as well as Michael Angelo's Workshop. There's a couple of characters that I couldn't find though. One of them is the Button Man, the other one is Martina Groesbeck, guys. --Crimson Frankie -ArroyoTalk 07:50, May 5, 2012 (UTC)

If you wouldn't mind, could you take your talk page link out of the progress tables? It's unnecessary and kind of clutters things. -- Bacon-Man Talk to me goose! 19:19, May 6, 2012 (UTC)

Is it OK to use quotations, containing heavy swearing? Are there any policies on this matter? --Theodorico (talk) 21:04, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

If it says something about the personality of the character, then by all means add it in! ~ Toci ~ Go ahead, make my day. 22:13, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

Is "Notable quotes" section permitted on a faction page? Cause there's so many interesting generic quotes which can describe a faction as a whole. --Theodorico (talk) 20:01, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

I crossed out the Westside Militia. Explanation. --Theodorico (talk) 23:14, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

I'm questioning the necessity of quotes pertaining to in-game locations. Just find it doubtful that any of them exist other than the main locations (The Strip, Citadel, Megaton, Rivet city etc), but every single blip on the map? Good luck trying to find a quote to describe Old Lady Gibson's shack, for example... Yes Man defaultUser Avatar talk 03:37, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

After finally two years nearly, the entire project's nearly complete. All of Fallout 3 and New Vegas and their DLC is fully complete. Now we just need to get the peer reviews done and it's finally over. User Broccoli  OfficialLolGuy  Talk  Blog  22:21, December 25, 2013 (UTC)
