Settlement construction.

The player character in Fallout 76 can build settlements.

The settlements can be built through the Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform (C.A.M.P.), which can be relocated to another site. Setting up C.A.M.P. costs bottle caps and requires relatively flat terrain far enough from other structures. If one connects to a server where their settlement site has been occupied by another character, the returning player's settlement will automatically be transformed into a C.A.M.P. in inventory, allowing for re-establishment at another location. Constructed C.A.M.P.S. may be saved as Blueprints to be re-established at a new location as well.

Settlements can also be built at any claimed workshop. Claiming a workshop grants access to a resource generator, but a player character may have to fight other characters for control of it. After claiming a workshop, the character is advised to build defenses before waves of enemies attack during an event.

Much like in the previous game, the settlement system revolves around resources: electricity, water, food, and defenses. With the multiplayer mode on, multiple players can work on and expand a settlement.
