You look like someone with a question. What can I do for you?

Ezekiel is a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse, camping out at the 188 Trading Post in 2281.

Background[]

A Followers anthropologist, Ezekiel specializes in pre-War history and tribal cultures. He is particularly interested in modern tribes that emerged from the ashes of nuclear holocaust and is usually out in the field researching or looking for other tribes to study.[1] Although he has been looking for an assistant for seeming ages, Julie Farkas has not been able to find a suitable candidate.[2]

Of all the tribes he has studied, the Great Khans fascinate him the most. He sees them not as simple raiders, but as a fascinating tribe with a unique culture and customs, empathizing with their tragic past, especially the near-extirpation by the Vault Dweller and the fall of the New Khans at the hands of his grandson. Their resilience and particularly the origins of their martial culture are a topic of fascination, shared by few other scholars.[1][3][4]

Notes[]

  • He appears at the trading post, even if the Courier has not met the Followers previously.
  • He has the dialogue of a generic Followers guard before the quest.
  • If the Courier joins the Followers, he will assist them in combat instead of fleeing.
  • He may mention the Vault Dweller destroying the original Khans if the Courier brings it up.
  • Julie Farkas accepts Jerry the Punk into the Followers because Ezekiel has been looking for an assistant.

Notable quotes[]

  • "Oh my, yes! They're a fascinating tribe with a long and, unfortunately, tragic history."
  • "Oh, of course! I'm sorry, I do tend to get wrapped up in my own theories and forget that not everyone finds them as fascinating as I do."

Appearances[]

Ezekiel appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

  1. 1.0 1.1 The Courier: "Who is Ezekiel?"
Julie Farkas: "He's a member of the Followers like myself, but his particular field is pre-War history and tribal culture. I do recall him being fascinated by the Khans, he kept going on about parallels to some ancient historical empire or another."
The Courier: "Where can I find this Ezekiel?"
Julie Farkas: "He rarely stops in here these days - you'd do best to look for him out in the wastes east of New Vegas. He's always looking for new tribes to study."
    (Julie Farkas' dialogue)
  2. The Courier: "He's obviously a bright, sensitive soul, and he loves literature."
Julie Farkas: "Excellent! Ezekiel's been after me to find him a new assistant for ages. Tell the boy we'll take him."
    (Julie Farkas' dialogue)
  3. The Courier: "Julie Farkas said you might know something about the Great Khans."
Ezekiel: "Oh my, yes! They're a fascinating tribe with a long and, unfortunately, tragic history. Their original incarnation, much farther out west, was almost completely wiped out by one of those itinerant heroes so common in the post-War years. Then of course the 'New Khans' suffered a similar fate, some say at the hands of the same hero, though of course the dates are all wrong for that."
The Courier: "This is fascinating. Please continue."
Ezekiel: "Well, after they migrated to the Mojave, we established relations with them, but that soured when all they wanted was to make drugs. The NCR eventually took them down quite a bit, but the really fascinating thing about them is the origin of their culture as a whole. You see...."
    (Ezekiel's dialogue)
  4. The Courier: "Can I get the abridged version?"
Ezekiel: "Oh, of course! I'm sorry, I do tend to get wrapped up in my own theories and forget that not everyone finds them as fascinating as I do. Here, I salvaged this book from an old library. It's a history of a people called the Mongols. I think that's what the Khans built their culture on. You should read it, it's fascinating stuff."
    (Ezekiel's dialogue)
