[edit] Overview

According to Fallout Bible the Enclave army was composed of hundreds of soldiers armed with advanced versions of Power Armor and guns, that rival the Brotherhood of Steel, while according to dr. Charles Curling there were thousand inhabitants on the oil rig. It seems:

• the Enclave army consisted of 200-900 soldiers, which was 20-90% of whole population (notice: contemporary US Army battalion has 300 – 1000 soldiers),
• 40 Camp Navarro crew was 4% of whole population and 10 troops lost in Mariposa Military Base - 1% of population,
• the Enclave armed forces were supported by significant number of military bots on the oil rig.

[edit] Recruitment

• External (local) recruitment for lower posts at understaffed Camp Navarro was possible. Its known possible reasons were desertions and the Enclave dwellers antipathy for the mainland. There were no reconditioning procedures or facilities. Possibly such recruits never visited the oil rig (it was no problem when Chosen One didn't know where the oil rig is). According to one of Navarro technicians some subversives (external recruits probably) were not entitled and not able to pilot vertibirds.
• Volontaire recruitment on the oil rig for technician positions at Camp Navarro was possible.
• NCO worked in the Enclave armed forces for a living (Sgt. Dornan at least).
• In the Enclave armed forces recruited significant number of women - eg. some guards served at Camp Navarro or were vertibird crew during New Reno flights.

• Reconditioning center was mentioned by the President as the right place for the Chosen One wandering through the Executive Office.
• According to Fallout Bible Horrigan's loyalty was reinforced by Presidential Directive through various conditioning and testing programs. His low Intelligence made these conditioning programs take root easily.

[edit] Training and education

• At the Guard Barracks bedroom - squad of 8 less experienced guards (150 hp) equipped with Power Armors and Gauss weapons (small arms skill needed only) and 2 troops equipped with Advanced Power Armors (200 hp) could be encountered.
• Technicians and mechanics serving at Camp Navarro had some basic firearms training ("Pointy end with the laser diode goes toward the enemy. Then pull trigger.").
• Within the Enclave armed forces were at least 4 officers and at least 4 sergeants, who should be educated and trained somewhere (senior staff for CHQ and other military units).
• One of the Enclave sergeants was drill sergeant Dornan, so Camp Navarro could be a kind of training place. It is not certain, if drill sergeants were present somewhere else.
• United States Chemical Corps head, besides of Lt. Col. rank, had doctor of science degree, as well as two other probably USCC members (medical and genetical profile).

• The Enclave soldiers combat skills (firearms, melee and unarmed) were comparable to skills reached by heavy disciplined and trained ghoul guards in the Reservation (6-15 experience level) as well as the NCR soldiers (the NCR troops in Hoover Dam had 8-12 experience level, Gen. Coleridge's the NCR guards had 15-20 experience level) and Brotherhood of Steel members.

There were 50 hp and 100 hp the Enclave pale citizens. Educaion. training and reconditioning efforts resulted with creating:

• 85 hp and 90 hp light soldiers (equipped with Combat Armors),
• 100 hp scientists and technicians,
• 130 hp tough military technicians (the only known example: deserted "Captain" A. Ron Meyers),
• 140 hp and 150 hp “junior” soldiers (equipped with Power Armors) and 150 hp some senior military staff (equipped with Advanced Power Armors),
• 200 hp the most experienced soldiers, equipped with Advanced Power Armors (eg. sgt. Granite's squad).

However there were the Enclave personnel with lower then the weakest citizens hp amount (43-45) like Navarro military specialists, dr. Schreber and Tom Murray.

According to dialouge with sergeant Dornan - yearly Navarro guard payments were probably 49 currency units (Advanced Power Armor Mk II is worth 25000 c.u., wich is equal to 510 years guard's payments - counted without interest).

The Enclave has been looking for cheap and expendable soldiers. They interested in deathclaws, because of its built-in armor and mean weapons (claws).
