The Dr. Mobius' glove is a unique weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.

Characteristics

It differs visually from the regular scientist glove in that it is a darker color and bears a golden badge. When using this glove in combat, it emits a small electronic pulse, much like that of the LAER. On successful hits, the weapon has an object effect called "M A D N E S S !!!", which reduces the target's Energy Weapons skill and Perception significantly. "Mad Science Attack!" is the critical effect that causes knockback and frenzies enemies on a critical hit. Combined with its high critical multiplier, the Frenzy effect makes it very useful as a crowd control weapon.

Special Attacks

This weapon can use three special attacks in V.A.T.S.:Stomp, Uppercut and Cross. Note that in Fallout: New Vegas unarmed damage is double normal weapon damage when used in V.A.T.S.

Attack type Unarmed skill V.A.T.S. Dam AP cost Dam/AP Note
Normal 0 56 15 3.73

Locations

It can be found near Dr. Mobius in the Forbidden Zone Dome, lying on a table immediately to the left of the center stairs, next to some of Dr. Mobius' work.

Notes

  • When worn along with Dr. Mobius' glasses and scrubs, a challenge called "Mobius Strip" for wearing his full set of apparel is completed, earning the player 100 XP.
  • On the underside of the glove inside the hexagon, a human skull can be seen.
  • When punching a door with this glove on, a small amount of blood will often splatter on it for reasons unknown.
  • If you attack your companion with this glove and they become frenzied, they will become hostile to you once dismissed.
