- It is marked as a quest item, used to fix the elevator in the Reilly's Rangers quest, cannot be dropped or traded, and has a weight of 0.
- It is possible to find Donovan in Capital Wasteland as a random occurrence with Donovan fighting some super mutants. If you pick up Donovan's wrench you are unable to hand it in for any sort of reward and then are unable to remove from your inventory as it is regarded as a quest item.
