The protagonist's dog is a dog living in the Commonwealth.
Background
The dog appears in the Fallout 4 trailer searching an abandoned house. He sniffs around in the bedroom of a child who lived there and picks up a scent, and immediately runs toward Vault 111. He is then seen afterwards wandering the wasteland with the protagonist.

Notes
- In the gameplay video shown at E3 2015, the dog has the name Dogmeat. This could potentially mean either, that Dogmeat has returned from Fallout 3, or that the player will have the choice of naming the dog or not.
- When the player is rebuilding a site, they can place a dog house for the dog to stay in.

The protagonist's dog appears only in Fallout 4.
