Dirty water is a consumable item in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics
Edit
Dirty water is the most common water in the game, and is drawn from the tainted lakes and rivers of Fallout: New Vegas. Unlike purified water, drinking dirty water will induce moderate radiation, which can be cured for a fee by a doctor, or by using RadAway.
Consuming contaminated water is much more irksome than in Fallout 3, because of the lack of the My First Infirmary. However, with Hardcore mode enabled, it may be a necessary consumable, as it can be difficult for players early in the game without a canteen to find adequate quantities of purified water.

Locations
Edit
- 20 can be bought from Lupe at the Grub n' Gulp rest stop.
- Sometimes found in first aid boxs.
Notes
Edit
- Dirty water differs in appearance from purified water. Dirty water is labeled "WATER", while purified water is labeled "H²O"; the bottle is also grimier. The Pip-Boy 3000 icon for both is the same, however.
- Dirty water can be purified in bulk at a campfire.
