Here I was thinking you'd be a challenge, want a rematch?

Dale Barton is a roving trader and a supplier for Caesar's Legion, found at the Fort in 2281.

Background[]

Barton is an independent caravan merchant and a supplier for Caesar's Legion, originally from Arizona.[1] He prefers to trade in regions under the control of the Legion, sharing that it is safer and more profitable than to travel into NCR territory.[2] This is due to Caesar not taxing traders in his territory and the Legion's effectiveness in keeping the trade routes secure.[3]

He says he has never had the pleasure of meeting Caesar.[4] When asked about Legate Lanius, he mentions Lanius killing one of his brahmin just because it got in his way but says he had enough sense to keep quiet about it.[4][5] Barton is the one who salvaged the Legion's howitzer from Yuma, Arizona.[6] He has a large selection of items, regularly updates his wares, and is willing to play Caravan or repair items for the Courier.[7]

  • If Caesar has been killed, he will mention that he is not sure he will be welcome around the Fort once Lanius is in charge.[8]

Notes[]

  • If the Courier is hostile with the Legion, Dale will remain neutral.
  • Once Dale reaches 41,000 in caps, he will not dip below it while playing Caravan. This can be exploited to earn caps and get the Know When to Fold Them and Caravan Master achievements/trophies.
  • If the Courier is on bad terms with the Legion, instead of talking, he will say quotes from typical wanderers, even pro-NCR quotes such as "There's been reports of Legion raiding parties," or mentioning Motor-Runner was put down.
