Dad's wasteland outfit
Dad's wasteland outfit is the Vault jumpsuit James is wearing just after exiting the Tranquility Lane Tranquility lounger in Vault 112. It is identical to the Vault 101 utility jumpsuit except that the suit has black boots instead of sneakers, a black undershirt opposed to a white one and a few more stains.
It can be repaired with Vault jumpsuits, the Vault 101 utility jumpsuit and the modified utility jumpsuit.
Another way to get this outfit is by standing directly in front of the airlock door in the Memorial Rotunda right after James' death, so that you are right in front of his corpse. It can be accessed by slowly rotating the camera around until seeing "Search Dad" on the screen. This only works if his body has fallen close to the door. It can also be done with Colonel Autumn, who at the time will have 10mm rounds, Colonel Autumn's uniform, and Colonel Autumn's 10mm pistol.
Also, if quick enough, the Lone Wanderer can pass through the airlock door to obtain everyone's stuff in the room, but then he or she can't get back out, meaning this method is useless without console commands.
- Despite Dad's wasteland outfit being almost visualy identical to a Vault 101 utility jumpsuit, and carrying the same bonuses, it weighs an astounding 20 lbs. - a little less than a suit of combat armor, and as much as recon armor.
- Though it no longer serves any purpose, this armor is still found in the game files for Fallout: New Vegas.
- ps3 xbox360 This piece of clothing has a tendency to spin around in the air slowly when picked up and held. It will continue to spin until it is dropped. This can be particularly frustrating if you're trying to display it in your house. [verified]
