The Cram Opener is a unique weapon in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics
It appears much darker in color than the normal bladed gauntlet. It deals 7.693% more regular damage and 10% greater critical hit damage than the bladed gauntlet. It has 25% more durability and identical weapon critical hit multipliers and AP costs, when compared to the bladed gauntlet as well. As of patch 1.3.0.452, the Cram Opener no longer ignores damage threshold.

Locations
- It is held by Little Buster in Camp McCarran. He can typically be found meleeing a practice dummy just before the tents. You can obtain it by shooting the trucks directly infront of Little Buster killing him with no Karma loss. Note that if you shoot the truck, you can use almost any firearm and it should take only a few shots, but STAND FAR BACK or you and any companions you're with may be crippled.
- If you completed the Three-Card Bounty for Major Dhatri, then Little Buster won't be found at the camp. Instead, he ran away to Freeside via the North Gate. His body can be found by following the railroad tracks upon entering Freeside via this gate.
- If you pickpocket the Cram Opener from Little Buster, then complete the bounty hunter missions, you can loot a second Cram Opener from his body in Freeside.
Notes
- Prior to patch 1.3.0.452, this weapon was very useful for Sneak assassinations, as the armor piercing almost always made for a one-hit kill.
- The name of this weapon is a reference to the in-game food Cram, and the phrase "Can Opener", although Cram comes in a box, not a can.
Bugs
This weapon has the icon of a melee weapon when you assign it to the D-pad, even though it is an Unarmed weapon. This also happens with the regular bladed gauntlet.- If worn while entering the interrogation room Silus is being held in during Silus Treatment quest, the model will still be shown on your hands. This will continue after you have been returned your weapons, no matter what you currently have equipped. This also happens with the Recompense of the Fallen, and boxing tape.
- Tested on Giant radscorpions (36 DT), the armor penetration does nothing on normal attacks (deals about 6 out of 38 heavy handed damage) and the unbroken shield icon shows up. On power attacks or in V.A.T.S. attacks, the weapon deals an average of 30 damage, so perhaps the penetration is only working in V.A.T.S. mode.
