Coyotes almost always travel in packs like their wolf cousins. They have sharp teeth and will frequently knock a target over, then attack the head.
They are a bit stronger than dogs but weaker than wolves.

Fallout: New Vegas
Coyotes can be found in the Mojave Wasteland, primarily around Goodsprings at lower levels. They will growl at the player if he/she approach them, but will not attack if the player backs away, even though they show up as hostile on the radar.
