The Compartment Tray is a type of tray is used for carrying and containing items. This tray is portable, can be placed on any flat surface, and is made of white plastic. A tray has five shallow compartments for containing items. In a medical setting, a tray is used to carry medical equipment. These trays are used in the Vault-Tec Vaults.
The compartment trays in the Vaults are communally owned and were passed from one generation to the next. The expectation of Vault residents is that compartment trays will be cleaned and maintained to ensure their survivability.

A player's character can interact with the compartment tray. However, a player's character can’t inventory the compartment tray in their Pip-Boy 3000A.
